The role also involves tracking construction progress, addressing issues with project leadership, processing damage claims, analyzing project data, and providing training and guidance to construction leads while managing multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment.\nSupervise and evaluate construction personnel; coordinate construction efforts through in-house and contract labor for new construction and rebuild projects both aerial and underground\nRepresent the interests of Wave in a professional manner with governmental, municipal, and related industry organizations\nCoordinate and work with utility companies for all construction related work in the right of way, including but not limited to pole transfers, system maintenance, pole inspection, relocation of plant and plant extensions\nCoordinate with engineers and developers in designing the plant; work closely with staff responsible for designing, drawing and sketching installation and location of equipment such as nodes, amplifiers, power supplies and cables; complete material orders needed for planned construction\nMonitor contractor performance; ensure adherence to terms and conditions of agreements and ensure all personnel and contractors are adhering to local and state construction requirements and codes\nPerform site inspections for quality control and safety\nCoordinate permitting and make-ready process\nEnsure staff is responding to quotes for the residential and small business sales teams to meet tight deadlines\nCommunicate with Project Manager or designated supervisor regarding concerns about construction progress.\nReview and process damage claims and work closely with staff in developing capital projects and purchase requests for the construction team\nOther duties as assigned.\nWhat You Bring to the Table:\n5 years Cable Television or Telecommunications technical experience\n7-10 years of experience in working and/or supervising a cable TV/telecommunications construction department\nVision ability; close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus\nKnowledge of National Electrical Codes and G.O.95 and 128\nValid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record\nAbility to prioritize and organize effectively\nAbility to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner\nAbility to supervise and motivate others\nAbility to use personal computer and software applications (i. word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)\nAbility to manage and complete multiple projects; amounts of projects, sizes, complexity, budget value, duration, etc. will increase with each level for Fiber Construction Lead I through Manager, Fiber Construction.\nAdvanced understanding of proper safety construction practices. \nAdvanced understanding of fiber route planning and engineering for building entry and network expansion projects.\nAdvanced understanding of the permitting process for railroad, DOT, cities, counties and pole owners. \nAdvanced understanding of fiber splicing and installation practices. \nAdvanced understanding of network topology.\nAdvanced knowledge of fiber optic principles and methodology. \nAdvanced understanding of GIS. \nAbility to build and establish effective relationships with municipalities, government agencies, property management, vendors, etc. \nStrong Microsoft Office skills required. \nAbility to track and analyze data against project forecasts. \nStrong critical-thinking, attention to detail and time management skills are required. \nStrong written and verbal communication skills are required. \nAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment without supervision. \nAbility to provide training and support for Construction Lead I-II. \nAbility to live within 30 miles, or maximum of 1-hour commute during regular commuting hours from the assigned territory.
