Astranis designs, builds, and operates its satellites out of its 153,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Northern California, USA.\nPower Electronics Engineering Manager\nAs the Engineering Manager for the Power Electronics team, you will play a critical role in building and leading a team of Power Electronics engineers. You’ll support the team in pushing the boundary of what is possible in a geo-synchronous spacecraft design and enable performance in space that has not been realized to date.\nRole\nDirectly manage and grow a team of junior and senior power engineers\nCollaborate with a broad and multidisciplinary team to define the spacecraft power requirements and architectures\nOversee the design, build, and implementation of the power converters and systems\nManage a detailed schedule to ensure that our power converters and systems development is in sync with the overall program schedule\nDrive power converter design, specification, component selection, circuit board design, implementation, verification, board bring-up, and debugging\nSupport in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing team\nSupport the production and mission operations teams on the build and in-flight use of our power converter hardware\nDrive the growth of the power team through recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-expanding team\nRequirements\nB.S. or higher in electrical engineering, or similar technical degree\n5+ years of professional experience with fast-paced product design cycles\n5+ years of board level experience designing power electronics hardware from concept through production\nA passion for hardware development, including working in a fast-paced environment and hands-on design and development\nDemonstrated ability to design, build, and test hardware from scratch\nDemonstrated ability to build and manage teams of engineers and communicate clearly with other disciplines\nUS Citizenship or Green Card\nBonus\nExperience with photovoltaics\nExperience with Li-ion batteries and management systems\nExperience with magnetics in power electronics\nRadiation effects knowledge\nWhat we offer: \nAll our positions offer a compensation package that includes equity and robust benefits.\nBase pay is just one component of Astranis’s total rewards package.
