You will mentor junior engineers, lead automation efforts, and help shape the standards that ensure the platform is secure, reliable, and cost-efficient at scale.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nCloud Operations & Reliability Ownership\nLead day-to-day operational support across AWS accounts (EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM).\nOwn lifecycle management activities, including patching, scaling, performance tuning, and backup strategy.\nServe as an escalation point for major incidents; lead root-cause analysis and post-incident reviews.\nImprove operational resilience through automation, standardization, and proactive monitoring.\nArchitect improvements to CI/CD pipelines (ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) to increase reliability and reduce deployment friction.\nDrive automation of repetitive operational tasks using Python, Bash, or similar.\nPartner with engineering teams to streamline environment provisioning and deployments.\nMentor CloudOps engineers on CI/CD patterns and operational guardrails.\n\nFinOps Leadership & Cost Optimization\nLead cloud cost-efficiency initiatives across compute, storage, data services, and networking.\nAnalyze usage trends and guide right-sizing, modernization, and storage tiering strategies.\nPartner with engineering and FinOps teams to forecast cloud spend and identify optimization opportunities.\nDrive accountability by defining and tracking cost KPIs across services.\n\nDatabase Engineering & Data Operations\nLead operational ownership of MongoDB and/or RDS Aurora (performance tuning, scaling, failover, backup/restore validation).\nDiagnose and resolve complex database issues impacting availability or performance.\nGuide application teams on efficient usage patterns for MongoDB/RDS Aurora.\nContribute to improvements in backup strategy, disaster recovery, and data resiliency.\n\nObservability, Monitoring & Incident Management\nDesign and enhance monitoring, alerting, and dashboards (CloudWatch, Grafana, Splunk, OpenTelemetry).
