This includes planning, drug substance manufacture, drug product manufacture, packaging, labelling and distribution to depots / clinical investigator sites.\nThe Clinical Logistics team within CM&S has the accountability to ensure the distribution and logistics requirements of our supply chains are being met.\nReporting to the Senior Director Clinical Logistics and part of the Clinical Logistics team, the role will manage the CM&S Logistics budget and spend. Delivering operational, tactical and strategic activities and improvements relating to that area.\nJob Responsibilities:\nSub-area owner: Logistics Spend Management and Strategy:\nOwnership of the CM&S Logistics budget. \nOwnership of business processes and solutions to effectively manage all logistics costs within CM&S. \nCreation and execution of a ‘Cost to Serve’ model whereby logistics costs are managed within the function, and costs are allocated to appropriate clinical study / project cost centres. \nCreation and maintenance of network-wide spend visibility capabilities. \nCreation and execution of spend auditing and billing accuracy capabilities. \nAccountable for delivering strategic changes to unlock new value and performance improvements, including: \nIdentification and execution of Import VAT, duty and logistics spend optimisation opportunities. \nSub-process ownership: define and maintain SOPs/work instructions and business processes, aligned with the CM&S Logistics Business Process Owner’s (BPO) objectives. \nDigital, Systems and tools: Act as the business owner for digital tools/systems relevant to the sub-area. \nData stewardship: Set data standards, ensure master/reference data quality, and drive data-driven visibility (dashboards/analytics) to support decisions and continuous improvement. \nRisk and compliance: Maintain financial compliance, documentation accuracy; ensure audit readiness and effective CAPA. \nContinuous improvement: Identify and implement changes that reduce lead times, variability, manual effort, and cost while improving service reliability. \nEducation, Qualifications, Skills and Experience\nEssential\nA minimum of 6 years prior experience within a supply chain/logistics environment. \nWorking knowledge of the logistics industry and the various government agencies and regulations involved with the distribution of products. \nExperience of managing large and complex logistics budgets. \nAppropriate business and financial acumen. \nAdvanced Digital, AI and data literacy. \nExperience of delivering significant improvement projects and strategic changes. \nExcellent analytical skills. \nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, team player, with the ability to identify and communicate key issues for resolution. \nAbility to effectively interact and influence with all levels within functional areas, customers, outside service providers and with external regulatory authorities. \nAbility to evaluate/manage relationships with outside service partners. \nFluent English ability. \nDesirable\nDegree in Supply Chain / logistics or other relevant business discipline. \nExperience with lean tools and methodologies. \nFamiliarity of the pharmaceutical/clinical supply chain environment. \nDate Posted\n07-paź-2026Closing Date\n22-paź-2026AstraZeneca embraces diversity and equality of opportunity.
