As part of our Enterprise AI function, the Data & Information Marketplace team helps people-and increasingly AI-enabled tools-discover, access, share and reuse valuable data responsibly.\nThe team operates the processes that make AstraZeneca data available to AZ personas and their use cases, with increasing speed, quality and efficiency. Today, this is primarily achieved through the data provisioning process. As the service evolves, the role is expected to develop from managing individual data requests towards providing greater oversight, optimisation and continuous improvement of an increasingly automated process. This will include less focus on handling each request individually and more focus on managing the policies, controls, workflows and performance measures that enable appropriate automated access to data.\nThe Data Provisioning Operations team plays a central role in this mission. We manage the demand and supply of data across research and business teams, ensuring that data is governed appropriately, meets quality expectations and is prepared for responsible analytical use.\nAs a Data Provisioning Operations Specialist, you will coordinate data provisioning activities from initiation through to completion, while also helping to improve and optimise the wider operating model. You will work with requestors, data owners, governance teams, technical specialists and other partners to ensure that data access is assessed, progressed and delivered effectively.\nThis is an operations, coordination and process-improvement role. You will not be expected to undertake data science or data engineering projects. Instead, you will help create the conditions for scientists, analysts and other colleagues to use data efficiently, while respecting legal, regulatory and ethical requirements. You will also be expected to identify opportunities to use automation and AI to improve your own productivity, enhance team effectiveness and simplify the experience for data users.\nWhat you'll do\nOperate and optimise data provisioning processes: Coordinate data access activities and improve the speed, quality, consistency and efficiency of the service as it evolves towards greater automation.\nSupport policy-led and automated access: Assess requirements against governance, privacy and data-sharing standards, and help maintain the policies, controls and workflows that enable appropriate automated access.\nManage stakeholders and exceptions: Support data users, coordinate data owners, governance and technical teams, and focus human intervention on complex requests, risks, dependencies and escalations.\nMonitor performance and delivery: Track service activity, identify issues and trends, communicate progress and contribute to reporting on demand, delivery, quality, efficiency and customer experience.\nImprove processes and productivity: Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce manual effort and use automation and AI responsibly to improve personal and team productivity.\nMaintain operational records and controls: Ensure that requests, decisions, approvals, policies, actions and delivery outcomes are accurately recorded and traceable.\nPromote responsible data use: Help ensure data is accessed and shared in accordance with legal, regulatory, contractual and ethical requirements.\nWhat you'll bring\nRelevant experience: Experience in operations, service delivery, project coordination, process improvement or a similar role, ideally involving complex workflows or multiple stakeholders.\nOrganisation and attention to detail: Strong planning, prioritisation and information-management skills, with the ability to manage competing activities and maintain accurate records.\nStakeholder and communication skills: Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to build relationships, clarify requirements and progress work through collaboration and influence.\nCritical thinking and judgement: The ability to identify information gaps, assess risks, manage exceptions and recognise when specialist input or escalation is required.\nCustomer and service focus: A commitment to understanding user needs and delivering a responsive, reliable and increasingly efficient service.\nProcess improvement mindset: A practical interest in simplifying processes, reducing manual effort, using metrics and improving quality and customer experience.\nDigital and AI curiosity: An interest in applying automation and AI tools responsibly to improve productivity, team effectiveness and service delivery.\nData and compliance awareness: Familiarity with data governance, privacy, information management or regulated environments is desirable.\nOwnership and teamwork: A collaborative, proactive approach, with the confidence to take responsibility, follow through on commitments and escalate issues appropriately.\nEducation or equivalent experience: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.\nDesirable experience\nService operations and process improvement: Experience in service delivery, shared services, workflow management or continuous improvement, ideally using operational metrics or standard operating procedures.\nData governance and compliance: Familiarity with data access, data quality, privacy, information management or regulatory requirements such as GxP, GDPR or HIPAA.\nAutomation and AI: Experience using workflow automation, self-service models, policy-based access, service management platforms or AI tools to improve productivity and operational efficiency.\nRegulated or international environments: Experience working in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, life sciences or other regulated and geographically distributed organisations.\n\nWhy join us?\n\nYou will join a collaborative team working at the intersection of data, technology, science and responsible innovation.
