In this role, you’ll be a key part of our team, helping us maintain our utilities, respond to operational challenges and continuously improve the way we work. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!\nAs Utilities Technical Operators, we manage, coordinate and support the maintenance of crucial infrastructure and distribution systems. You will work with associates and external partners to maintain equipment performance. They will respond to issues and ensure work is completed safely and meets quality and regulatory requirements.\nThis is a varied, hands-on role where you can apply your technical knowledge, contribute ideas and help improve the reliability of systems that support the wider site.\nWhat you’ll do:\nYou will:\nOperate, supervise and carry out basic maintenance on utilities equipment and systems.\nComplete planned maintenance, compliance testing and safety checks.\nRespond to equipment breakdowns and help restore services promptly.\nIdentify and communicate equipment, performance or compliance concerns.\nMaintain accurate equipment documentation and handle SAP notifications.\nRaise Quality Notifications when required.\nIssue and follow Safe Systems of Work for colleagues and contractors.\nCollect and record engineering data to support equipment performance.\nUse continuous improvement tools to identify trends and reduce recurring issues.\nContribute to engineering improvement projects and safety initiatives.\nMaintain information relating to Bills of Materials and critical spares.\nSupport and mentor less-experienced colleagues and new starters.\nComplete required Safety, Health and Environment and Good Manufacturing Practice training.\nWork collaboratively with Quality Assurance, Engineering, maintenance teams, site customers and external contractors.\nSystems you will could support with will include:\nCompressed air\nSteam and condensate\nWater systems\nControl and instrumentation\nHigh-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution\nEmergency backup systems\nFire-alarm and fire-protection systems\nGas-alarm systems\nRegulatory inspections\nEssential experience and skills:\nWe’re looking for someone who has:\nKnowledge of engineering principles.\nTechnical knowledge or experience within utilities, plant or engineering operations.\nKnowledge of relevant safety, environmental and GxP requirements.\nProficiency in observing procedures and ensuring accurate record-keeping.\nGood organisational skills and attention to detail.\nClear written and verbal communication skills.\nThe ability to coordinate priorities and complete work to agreed timelines.\nThe confidence to work independently and collaboratively.\nA proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.\nGood English-language skills and secondary-level education.\nDesirable experience:\nIt would be useful, but not essential, if you have:\nExperience within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.\nExperience using systems such as SAP or Coupa.\nKnowledge of continuous improvement or maintenance tools, such as TPM, RCM, RCA or CBM.\nProject-planning or coordination experience.\nAn understanding of supply-chain processes.\nExperience with project or change-management approaches.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as presentation software.\nPlease note:\nThis role is internally aligned to SA91 Grade 7\nYour development:\nYou will have opportunities to expand your technical expertise, contribute to initiatives focused on improvement and support the development of colleagues.
