The incumbent will build/create all drawings for datacenter POP’s and develop/write Scopes of Work (SOW) for new POP builds. The Data Center Engineer will create detailed installation MOP’s (Method of Procedure) for multiple types of optical transport and switching equipment, overheads (fiber raceway, ladder, basket) and power AC/DC. The incumbent will also communicate with all departments and provide tech support for Network Engineers.\nScope:\nApplies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues\n\nWorks on problems of moderate scope\n\nReceives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects\n\nYour Roles and Responsibilities:\nDeploying, configure, and support a large-scale production and corporate network and server infrastructure in data centers and Point of Presence (POP) sites.\n\nCalculate and document equipment power requirements and work with Engineering, Facilities Operations, and/or collocation vendors to meet these requirements.\n\nManage project timelines to support network turn-up within expected completion intervals.\n\nResponsible for asset management of networking gear in datacenter and POP sites.\n\nContribute to documentation, automation and processes as they evolve.\n\nCreate network and server rack face elevations, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and detailed port maps for new deployments and documentation.\n\nCreate statements of work for vendors at the POP sites.\n\nCreate cage and rack designs and understand the overall needs of POP infrastructure.\n\nDocument and follow RMA processes and procedures for all relevant vendors.\n\nAssist in following, improving, and implementing data center and POP best practices.\n\nWork closely with Network Engineering, Logistics, and equipment vendors as new equipment and technologies are integrated into the production network.\n\nOther duties as required. This list is not meant to be a comprehensive inventory of all responsibilities assigned to this position\n\nRequired Qualifications/Skills:\nBachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 5 to 8 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience\n\nNetworks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise\n\nDemonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions\n\nUnderstanding of Data center practices (i.e. cable routing, calculating power usage and cooling).\n\nFamiliarity with creating As-Built drawings for Datacenter POPs and creating the 3rd module on DC-CAD\n\nKnowledge of how to build/create SOW’s for new POP builds\n\nUnderstanding of field-based work in POPs, carrier hotels, or Central Office environments.\n\nUnderstanding of fiber-optic technology including cable types, connector types, optic types, patch panels, and optical transport technologies.\n\nExcellent communication skills, should be able to work with carriers/vendors\n\nUnderstanding of importance of dealing with service providers and colocation facilities\n\nAbility to work within a global team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with limited supervision\n\nStrong attention to detail with excellent time management and organization skills\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nPhysical Demand & Work Environment:\nMust have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing\n\nMust have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment\n\nMust be able to use a computer\n\nMust have the ability to communicate effectively\n\nSome positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers\n\nSalary Range\n$72,960.00 - $115,200.00 USD (Salary)Please note that the salary information provided herein is base pay only (gross); it does not include other forms of compensation which may or may not apply to this specific position, namely, performance-based bonuses, benefits-related payments, or other general incentives - none of which are guaranteed, may be subject to specific eligibility requirements, and are wholly within the discretion of Astreya to remit.\nFurther, the salary information noted above is a range that consists of a minimum and maximum rate of pay for this specific position.
