At Astreya, you'll work alongside talented engineers and service professionals, grow your skills, and make a visible impact on the organizations we support.\nPosition Overview\nAstreya is seeking an IT Systems Operations Engineer to provide business-hours support for existing Linux and Windows systems and engineering applications for one of the leading AI organizations. In this role, you will take ownership of support cases, troubleshoot emerging issues, deliver practical fixes, and partner with engineering teams to close workflow gaps and prevent repeat problems. The ideal candidate is a self-directed problem solver who prioritizes by impact, communicates clearly, and leaves systems and documentation better than they found them.\nKey Responsibilities\nCase Ownership: Triage assigned requests and agreed support channels during business hours; maintain accurate case records capturing impact, diagnostics, priority, status, next action, and owner.\nOperational Repairs: Troubleshoot, repair, and configure existing endpoints, servers, applications, connectivity, and access within delegated permissions; document change notes, test results, and recovery steps, and verify the affected user workflow before closing a repair.\nEngineering and Vendor Escalations: Escalate issues with clear impact statements, reproduction steps, logs, attempted fixes, and specific help needed; secure a receiving owner and next action, and follow through to resolution or an explicitly accepted handoff.\nRecurring Issue Reduction: Identify repeat failures and workflow gaps; deliver tested configuration and documentation fixes and small script or tool changes where qualified; route larger changes as scoped engineering work items with supporting evidence and acceptance criteria.\nDocumentation and Reporting: Maintain reusable troubleshooting guides and deliver a weekly summary covering resolved cases, open blockers, recurring issues, and improvement status.\nRequired Qualifications\nExperience administering Linux endpoints and servers at scale, including troubleshooting systemd services, logs, packages, file permissions, and SSH.\nHands-on Windows endpoint and server administration, including troubleshooting services, Event Viewer errors, software installations, drivers, and RDP.\nWorking knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and VPNs, with the ability to diagnose connectivity issues from the endpoint through the network.\nExperience diagnosing endpoint enrollment, compliance, configuration, and application deployment failures using management tools and device-side logs.\nAbility to diagnose application launch, connectivity, license-checkout, and sign-in failures, and to trace group membership, provisioning, and SSO issues with application and identity owners.\nDemonstrated ability to work independently: prioritize by impact, investigate unfamiliar issues, identify recurring gaps, and keep users and engineering owners informed through resolution.\nExperience applying scoped fixes to existing systems, testing affected workflows, documenting results, and reverting unsuccessful changes.\nStrong written communication, including clear case notes, actionable engineering and vendor escalations, and reusable troubleshooting documentation.\nFamiliarity with Git, infrastructure as code, and configuration management sufficient to follow existing review and rollout processes.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAbility to contribute small fixes to existing scripts or tools using Bash, Python, or PowerShell.\nExperience with Jamf, Intune, Chef, or Entra ID.\nExperience supporting robotics labs, shared devices, macOS, or virtual desktop environments.\nExperience troubleshooting engineering applications such as Teamcenter/NX, including client setup, connectivity, and licensing.\nWhat You'll Work On\nSystems Operations\nTroubleshoot and configure existing Linux/Windows workstations, servers, and shared or specialized devices, including services, permissions, and connectivity.\nDevice Management\nResolve device enrollment, compliance, software installation, and update failures; restore broken self-service software delivery.\nApplication Support\nDiagnose application launch, connectivity, and licensing failures; work with engineers or vendors on fixes and verify the user's workflow.\nNetwork Connectivity\nInvestigate Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, routing, and VPN issues; apply approved fixes or escalate with diagnostic evidence.\nIdentity and Access\nTroubleshoot sign-in, permissions, group membership, and provisioning; restore approved access and repair broken request workflows with owners.\nWorkflow Improvements\nIdentify recurring issues, contribute small configuration or tooling fixes where qualified, and improve support procedures with engineering partners.\nWhy Astreya?\nWork with some of the world's most innovative technology companies\nBuild hands-on experience across Linux, Windows, networking, identity, and engineering applications\nCollaborate with experienced engineering and service delivery teams\nMake a measurable impact by reducing repeat issues and improving how support works\nAstreya is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
