Learning is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to oversee the financial operations of our regional office(s).\nThis is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to an organisation working at the intersection of education and technology in sub-Saharan Africa.\nReporting to the Regional Director, you will play a central role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and supporting strategic financial planning.\n\nWhat you'll do\n\nTrack office expenditure and produce detailed budget and expense reports\nEnsure compliance with tax regulations and submit all statutory filings on time\nProcess and oversee staff payroll accurately and on schedule\nCoordinate with external auditors and uphold adherence to internal financial policies.\nConduct financial performance analysis and submit quarterly KPI reports to the Regional Director\nProduce core financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements\nPrepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports\nManage day-to-day accounting operations for the regional office(s)\nMonitor client payment status and manage accounts receivable\nSupport budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes\n\nWhat we're looking for\n\nAbility to manage competing deadlines and communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders.\nAt least 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience\nStrong working knowledge of financial regulations in Zambia and Malawi\nA Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field\nHigh attention to detail with strong analytical and organisational skills\nProficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel\nDemonstrated experience managing payroll and financial reporting across multiple countries\n\nNice to have:\n\nFamiliarity with multi-currency financial management\nExperience supporting or liaising with international audit processes.\nProfessional
