Candidates local to the greater Seattle/Kirkland, WA area highly desired. Relocation support is not available for this position. **\nThe Electrical Engineering Internship is a paid, full-time, summer position where the intern is considered a team member who will learn and contribute during the assignment.\nThis internship offers hands-on hardware design experience working alongside skilled engineers to develop products that operate in demanding aerospace environments. You’ll have the opportunity to strengthen your circuit design, troubleshooting, and layout skills while gaining exposure to avionics standards and processes.\nPOSITION SUMMARY\n The Electrical Engineering Intern may assist in electrical circuit design, circuit board layout, component analysis, and troubleshooting for product development and support activities. Focus will be on building fundamental hardware engineering skills while contributing to real product development efforts.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nAssist in electrical circuit design with integrated circuits\nCreate and review circuit board layouts with guidance from experienced engineers.\nConduct electrical circuit troubleshooting on prototypes and production units.\nPerform component analysis and interpret datasheets for proper selection and application.\nOperate test equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, AC and DC power supplies, and SPICE simulation tools.\nContribute to evaluation of test data and recommend improvements.\nDocument designs, create diagrams, and maintain organized engineering files.\nCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.\nSupport power supply design and testing for DC/DC and AC/DC systems.\n\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nEducation/Experience:\nElectrical Engineering student entering Junior or Senior year or pursuing a Master’s.\nCoursework or lab projects in hardware electronics design.\nFamiliarity with basic troubleshooting and lab instrumentation.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nStrong interest in hands-on hardware engineering.\nTeam-oriented mindset with attention to detail.\nBonus Tool Experience: Thermal imaging systems, spectrum analyzers and circuit board layout tools.\nELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS\nAs a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
