This role serves as a hands-on leader who can perform assembly work, assist with troubleshooting, manage daily priorities, monitor capacity, and coordinate with support functions to resolve issues that may impact production flow. The Assembly Lead helps ensure team members are trained, cross-trained, aligned to schedule requirements, and operating within established 6S and quality standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform hardware assembly as needed to support daily production requirements.\nDevelop working knowledge of assembly processes across ToughWriter, Miltope, RITEC, and harness assembly product lines to provide flexible support.\nManage day-to-day team priorities to meet on-time delivery and quality goals.\nMonitor production capacity against the schedule and allocate resources as needed to maintain workflow.\nAssist team members with troubleshooting, problem resolution, and removal of production obstacles.\nPartner with Quality, Inspection, PCB, and other support functions to perform containment actions when defective components are discovered.\nSupport stock checks, defect investigations, and timely communication of material or process issues.\nParticipate in interviewing, onboarding, and training of new hires.\nCross-train team members to improve flexibility, capability, and coverage across assembly operations.\nMonitor work areas for 6S compliance and perform regular internal 6S audits.\nManage team training requirements and ensure required training is completed on time.\nDrive productivity improvements and support routing time accuracy.\nCreate, maintain, and present the Aerospace Hardware Assembly GEMBA board to communicate performance, priorities, and improvement actions.\nQualifications\nExperience in hardware assembly, electromechanical assembly, manufacturing operations, or a related production environment.\nAbility to learn and support multiple product lines and assembly processes.\nExperience leading, coordinating, training, or mentoring production team members preferred.\nWorking knowledge of quality standards, defect containment, inventory checks, and production schedule requirements.\nAbility to read and follow work instructions, procedures, drawings, and manufacturing documentation.\nStrong understanding of 6S, safety expectations, and continuous improvement practices preferred.\nSkills and Competencies\nHands-on assembly capability and willingness to support production directly when needed.\nStrong leadership, prioritization, and resource coordination skills.\nEffective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a production environment.\nClear communication with team members, supervisors, Quality, Inspection, PCB, and other support functions.\nAbility to identify schedule, material, staffing, or process risks and escalate them appropriately.\nCommitment to quality, safety, 6S discipline, and continuous improvement.\nAbility to train, coach, and cross-train team members to build team capability and flexibility.\nStrong ownership of team performance metrics, including safety, quality, delivery, inventory, cost, and
