This position performs a variety of financial accounting related customer service activities within the Student Business Services department unit in order to provide courteous, prompt, and accurate financial accounting assistance to students regarding their ASU account status. Additional job duties as assigned.\nEssential Duties:\nExtensive customer service in person, via e-mail, and on the phone for a variety of student account related functions for ASU Student Business Services.\n\nResearch Account activity to identify issues and resolve those issues in assigned area or report issues to the appropriate department.\n\nProcess Transactions including waivers, charges, and credits to student accounts.\n\nPrepare reconciliations and departmental reports utilizing a variety of software including PeopleSoft, MyASU and Microsoft Office.\n\nReview, processing and resolution of accounts including but not limited to: Tuition, Billing, and Collection of account related matters.\n\nDevelop and Create correspondence in response to student account inquiries.\n\nAnswer a high volume of phone calls, respond to email inquiries and assist with in-person customer services.\n\nUpdated departmental procedures relating to assigned accounting functions.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nDesired Qualifications:\nExperience working within Financial Accounting\n\nExperience in working in a high-volume customer services environment.\n\nExperience in Accounts Receivable environment.\n\nExperience in reconciling accounts involving debit and credit accounting processing.\n\nExperience in using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)\n\nExperience working in Peoplesoft or similar accounting based programs.\n\nExperience in preparing reports.\n\nEvidence of effective communication skills.\n\nExperience in using attention to detail skills.\n\nWorking Environment:\nActivities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.\n\nRequired to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distance to perform work.\n\nOccasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.\n\nRegular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.\n\nClearly communicate to perform essential functions.\n\nAll applicants must be eligible to work in the United States; ASU andStudent Business Services will not provide sponsorship for employment.\nDepartment Statement:\nASU Student Business Services provides accounting functions in the areas of: Student Accounts, Cashiering Services, Collections, Tuition Assessment and Treasury Management.\nDriving Requirement:\nDriving is not required for this position.Location:\nCampus: TempeFunding:\nNo Federal FundingInstructions to Apply:\nCurrent employees, student workers seeking staff opportunities, and students applying for student worker positions must apply directly through the Workday Jobs Hub.\nTo be considered, your application must include all of the following attachments:\nCover letter\nResume or CV\nMultiple documents may be uploaded in the attachments section.
