At Asurint, each member of our team plays and integral part as we work together to drive informed decisions through advanced screening solutions for fair and safe workplaces and communities.\nSummary\nThe Business Intelligence Engineer is responsible for delivering innovative BI solutions and reliable and accurate data marts that help drive business growth and make operations more efficient.\nResponsibilities\nDesigns, builds, and deploys BI solutions for both internal and external customers and maintains and supports data analytics platforms.\nRecognizes data trends and corrects data quality issues quickly, completely, and permanently.\nCollaborates with IT peers and business partners to focus on production support, service requests, and roadmap initiatives to ensure a balanced delivery of services and solutions aligned with business objectives.\nProvides support for operational systems by troubleshooting and testing (PostgreSQL, BigQuery, BI tools).\nCreates database queries, stored procedures, functions, and views as needed.\nShares domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.\nMaintains BI documentation and source system data mapping documentation.\nFollows the software development life cycle in all development efforts.\nCreates and maintains Business Intelligence documentation.\nPerforms continual remediation of BI systems and data structures to improve overall performance as well as data accuracy, integrity, and security.\nProvides ad hoc reports as needed/identified in support of the business where self-service is not available/possible.\nOther duties as required.\nRequirements\nStrong analytical skills with ability to translate business needs to technical specifications. \nHands-on experience with database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP), and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) framework.\nHigh level of expertise in development/enhancement of ETL packages/processes using tools like Fivetran/DBT, custom reports using Google BigQuery, and dashboards using BI dashboard tools such as Sisense,Power BI, or Tableau is preferred.\nKnowledge in developing SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.\nExperience working with data and platforms related to Sales, Operations, and Finance is preferred.\nJSON/XML knowledge is required.\nExperience with BigQuery, PostgreSQL, and Fivetran/DBT is preferred.\nExperience with the legal/court system is preferred.\nExperience with background screening is preferred.\nProficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required. Relevant business management systems such as general ledger, HRIS, CRM, etc. is preferred.\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or in a related engineering field is required.\nCertifications or licensure: Any industry certifications in the field of technology preferred. If you do any work-related driving while at Asurint, a driver’s license and ability to maintain a driving record that is satisfactory to the company’s liability insurance carrier is required.\nYears of relevant experience: 5 to 7 years is preferred.\nYears of experience supervising: None.\nWorking Conditions\nThe work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of offices, including the need for general safe workplace practices with office equipment and computers, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations.\nThis position is performed remotely within the United States or in an office setting in the Cleveland, Ohio headquarters, although off-site meetings in various settings may occur.\nInside Asurint’s office environment, the noise level is usually quiet to moderate.\nIn a remote setting, the employee is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment, for arranging the off-site workspace in an ergonomically sound manner, and for maintaining standard Internet speeds in order to work effectively. \nIn a remote setting, the employee is required to ensure that all equipment and records that are the property of Asurint but have been relocated to the off-site workplace, are maintained in a safe and secure manner and are used only for business purposes. \nThe schedule is generally normal Eastern Time Zone business hours (unless otherwise communicated based on position or working location), although the employee may be required to perform work, attend meetings and events before or after normal workings hours, and occasionally on weekends and evenings. \nSome travel by personal automobile and a valid driver’s license may be required.
