for a software engineer with a strong backend focus who wants to own things end to end.\nYou'll join the Stance team to design, build and run the services behind At-Bay Stance, our unified security platform, which is used by 10,000+ users at small and mid-sized businesses.\nYou'll own systems in production: shaping their architecture, shipping new capabilities into a live system, and keeping them healthy at scale. \nResponsibilities\nOwn services end to end: design, build, deploy and operate backend services, and be the go-to person for the ones you own.\nDrive design and architecture: write design docs, weigh trade-offs, and shape how our microservices, data and events fit together.\nShip into a live system: introduce new capabilities and integrations into production safely, using feature flags, gradual rollouts and backward-compatible changes.\nWrite quality code: well-tested, organized and robust code that supports a fast-growing organization.\nSolve hard problems: tackle complex engineering challenges on systems that are critical to the company.\nWork in a modern environment: continuously integrated and deployed code on cloud infrastructure.\nBuild for real users: work on user-facing features where latency, correctness and a smooth experience matter.\n Monitor and debug at scale: own observability for your services (logs, metrics, traces, alerts) and trace issues across distributed, event-driven flows.\nTake part in on-call: respond quickly to production issues, find root causes, and fix them for good.\nWork across the product: work closely with product managers, designers, QA experts, architects and experienced developers, communicate openly across our international teams, and step into React code when a feature needs it.\nRequirements\n5+ years of hands-on backend engineering in Python (preferred).\nExperience with event-driven architecture: SNS/SQS, Dapr, Kafka or similar.\nProven ownership of production systems: you've designed, shipped and operated services that real users depend on.\nStrong system design and architecture skills: microservices, RESTful APIs, data modeling.\nExperience building and running user-facing applications at scale.\nHands-on production monitoring and debugging: logs, metrics, distributed tracing, alerting (e.g. Grafana, Sentry, Datadog or similar).\nExperience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including query performance.\nExperience with cloud production environments (AWS), Docker and Kubernetes.\nA learning mindset: you pick up new tools, domains and codebases quickly, including frontend code when needed.\nExcellent communication in Hebrew and English.\nNice to have\nFrontend experience with React is a bonus. \nWorkflow orchestration (Orkes/Conductor, Temporal or similar).\nKnowledge of cyber security or networking.\nNoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch, DynamoDB or MongoDB.\nExperience leading technical initiatives or mentoring other engineers.\nWhat you'll
