Resident Engineer & Resident Engineer.\nPosition Title: Resident Engineer\nLocation: (At Project Site)\nEmployment Type: Contract\nExperience Required: Minimum 8 (Eight) years in a Consulting Role\nKey Responsibilities:\nReview drawings for constructability, site compatibility, and compliance with specifications and contracts\nRecommend design and contract modifications to suit site and local conditions\nMaintain up-to-date drawings and contract document records\nCheck, certify, and submit surveying data for approval\nMaintain daily site records and photographic progress documentation\nPrepare and submit monthly and weekly progress reports\nCoordinate site visits by design and contract department staff\nIssue Field Instructions and Change Notices in coordination with head office\nReview and certify contractor work programs and proposed key personnel\nMonitor construction sequence, progress, and schedule compliance\nReview, certify, and document contractor payment applications\nVerify and include approved materials on site in progress payments where applicable\nMaintain auditable financial and payment records\nManage and archive all project correspondence and records systematically\nHandle routine site correspondence and escalate critical issues for engineer approval\nReject non-conforming work and materials and enforce corrective actions\nMonitor contractor compliance with health and safety requirements\nMaintain daily communication with head office staff\nSupervise and evaluate site supervisors’ performance\nConduct and lead regular progress meetings\nFollow up on material approvals and quality test submittals\nAdvise contractors on improvements in methods, safety, quality, and progress\nIdentify project risks and opportunities and implement mitigation measures\nApprove work permits and inspection certificates with proper documentation\nEvaluate time and financial claims and forward for engineer approval\nManage contract changes and ensure proper filing and notification\nAddress public body issues and coordinate resolutions with the engineer\nMonitor validity and renewal of contract securities\nReview shop drawings and work methodologies\n\nRequirements\nMinimum Requirements:\nBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s is an advantage).\nMinimum 8 years of overall engineering experience.\nAt least 4 years of proven experience as Resident Engineer on building or infrastructure projects.\nStrong knowledge of building codes, engineering standards, and construction methodologies.\nExperience with contract administration (knowledge of FIDIC is an added advantage).\nProficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools.\nStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving
