Other duties may be assigned.\nAssists in developing and writing equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and proposal for integrating machinery and equipment such as robots, robot controllers, and programmable controllers into manufacturing process.\nSelects or designs various tools and/or fixtures to meet specifications.\nWrite operating programs from existing computer program or writes own computer program.\nAssists with installation to ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.\nTests the ability of machines to perform tasks.\nConfers with establishment personnel to implement operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions.\nAssists in determining parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedule required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed condition.\nDevelops models of alternate processing methods to test feasibility of new applications of system components and recommends implementation of improved procedures.\nParticipates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions as a representative of the engineering department.\nConfers with workers in other departments such as marketing, legal, and engineering, to provide technical information.\nDevelops and conducts related equipment training programs and demonstrates skills to trainees.\nRecommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.\nQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) from four-year college or university.\nLANGUAGE SKILLS\nAbility to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS\nAbility to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.\nREASONING ABILITY\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
