Effectiveness is measured through: RPN reduction (PFMEA), in process yield (FPY) and warranty reduction (W as a % of sales)\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nFacilitate cross-functional Preventative & Corrective team initiatives based on internal and external quality results (Yield, Warranty, Customer Scorecards, etc.).\nFacilitate failure analysis on customer returns to ensure quick turnaround time and responsiveness.\nMentor cross-functional teams (Process/Product Improvement teams) teams for effective “root cause” analysis, corrective and preventative action utilizing an 8D methodology including the training of team members as needed.\nLead customer facing communications on performance improvement activities, customer driven projects, and customer visits.\nResolving critical issues/situations ensuring that they are handled correctly and within current policy/procedure guide lines.\nCollect and leverage data pertinent to production line first pass yield or warranty performance to identify and drive prioritized improvement activities\nDevelop, implement and maintain manufacturing control plans.\nLead APQP / PPAP activity for new product realization and change management initiatives\nAnalyze and ensure production capability on Inverted Delta, Customer Characteristics, and Special Requirements\nEnforce compliance to the IATF:16949 quality management system and support internal/external audit programs\nPerform andon management to the shop floor to address production and/or quality concerns to minimize down-time.\nManage Other duties and special projects as assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE\nA bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (or related field); and a minimum of 7 years of experience in a quality engineering position dealing with Manufacturing quality process techniques and quality improvement programs.\nCandidate should possess experienced knowledge in the manufacturing/processing of electrical or mechanical devices.\nLANGUAGE SKILLS\nFluent in English is required / Conversational Spanish is desirable\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\nANALYTICAL TOOLS\nHas demonstrated the ability to apply all the commonly used statistical tools (MSA, SPC< DOE's, etc.) to drive continuous improvement with the ability to train others in acquiring knowledge on continuous improvement and statistical techniques\nHas extensive, in-depth knowledge on continuous improvement methodology and a full range of problem solving tools and methods\nEXTERNAL REQUIREMENTS\nHas a clear understanding and working knowledge of National and International Standards (e.g. ISO / AS / IATF) including customer specific requirements.\nHas sufficient knowledge to apply reasoning to the interpretation of the requirements\nINSPECTION AND TESTING\nHas consistently planned and led multiple measurement system analysis studies.\nHas the ability to provide advanced analysis and feedback reports on inspection and test results\nHas the ability to design / develop tools and techniques for measuring systems and devices\nQUALITY PLANNING\nHas an intrinsic understanding of the project management methods / APQP process and its potential positive impact on the business if done correctly.\nIs able to effectively manage a project management methods / APQP project team with demonstrated continuous improvement results.\nCOMPUTER SKILLS\nComputer literate with a working knowledge of software such as Word, Excel, Access etc.\nUnderstanding and knowledge of AI tools and applications is desirable\nLEADERSHIP\nDemonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional team environment\nDemonstrated ability to make quality decisions and implement actions with a PDCA mindset\nAble to direct and handle several different functions at the same time.\nCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS\nASQ Certified Quality Engineer, ASQ Certified Quality Technician, Certified Green Belt, or Certified Black Belt desirable.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
