Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, improving, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nDirectly supervises up to 120 employees and is accountable for the activities in their area of responsibility.\nCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.\nAssures that established policy, rules and regulations, and procedures are followed.\nCoaches, directs, monitors, and regularly and timely evaluates performance of employees.\nConducts coaching or disciplinary actions with employees, working in coordination with Human Resources.\nResponsible for the safety of employees, processes, equipment and housekeeping of the area.\nResponsible for ensuring all processes, equipment, and employees are meeting quality standards.\nResponsible for ensuring adherence to the policies and procedures of the quality standard TS16949 and environmental ISO 14001 standard.\nEnsures training and cross-training is effective and maintains training records.\nManages and approves hourly employee attendance records for payroll.\nManages and approves requests for time-off for responsible employees.\nMaintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.\nTimely reports and follows up on all process and equipment problems.\nTroubleshoots problems and facilitates problem solving teams.\nOrganizes work for smooth operations including reviewing staff levels and equipment requirements based on production needs and line efficiency.\nRecommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance quality of product, and productivity using lean manufacturing techniques.\nCoordinates and maintains visual controls used within production areas.\nVerifies correct identification, handling, and storage of products and materials.\nAttends leadership development and training as necessary.\nOther duties may be assigned\nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE\nHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED)\nMinimum three years’ experience in leadership or supervision in a manufacturing or production environment. \nSupervisory experience, higher education/training; and/or equivalent combination of experience and education. \nAn understanding of concepts for lean manufacturing.\nLANGUAGE SKILLS\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups. Ability to communicate effectively with oral and written communication including telephone conversation.\nCOMPUTER SKILLS\nAbility to operate proficiently a PC computer; use effectively word processing, spreadsheet and database software applications. Ability to draft and format memos, emails, spreadsheets, and graphs. Ability to navigate and perform duties in enterprise ERP and timekeeping software systems.\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to interpret company and departmental financial data.\nREASONING ABILITY\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
