As a Construction Manager, you'll be on the front lines of that mission, leading the safe execution of transmission line and substation projects that strengthen and modernize the electric grid.If you're a hands-on construction professional who thrives in the field, enjoys solving complex challenges, values safety above all else, and takes pride in delivering quality work, we want to hear from you.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nWhat You'll Do\nAs a Construction Manager, you'll serve as ATC's field representative, coordinating contractors, crews, and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to plan.\nLead Safe Construction Execution\nProvide on-site construction oversight for transmission line and substation projects.\nMonitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with technical specifications, contracts, environmental requirements, and quality standards.\nIdentify and remove barriers that could impact project schedules or field productivity.\nProvide leadership and direction to contractors and construction crews to support successful project outcomes.\nChampion Safety\nServe as a visible safety leader in the field.\nObserve work practices and reinforce safe behaviors.\nConduct safety conversations and address unsafe conditions promptly.\nMonitor contractor compliance with OSHA requirements and ATC safety expectations.\nPromote a culture where everyone goes home safely at the end of the day.\n\nManage Contractors & Field Resources\nReview contractor daily reports and weekly attestations.\nValidate labor, equipment, and material charges.\nEnsure work is performed according to contract requirements and project expectations.\nCoordinate construction activities among contractors and ATC functional groups.\nSupport construction scope changes through ATC's established field change management process.\nDrive Quality & Project Performance\nMonitor construction quality and adherence to design requirements.\nPrepare contractor performance evaluations and project status reports.\nParticipate in constructability reviews, material planning, and project readiness activities.\nEnsure project closeout activities, documentation, and as-built records are completed accurately.\nBuild Relationships\nPartner with Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Environmental, and Safety teams.\nCommunicate construction activities with customers, landowners, and stakeholders.\nDevelop solutions that balance operational, customer, environmental, and project requirements.\nWhat You'll Bring\nRequired Education\nHigh school diploma or GED.\nRequired Experience\nMinimum of 5 years of transmission construction, distribution construction, or related utility construction experience.\nExperience supporting field construction activities, contractor oversight, or utility infrastructure projects.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to build productive relationships with contractors, customers, and project stakeholders.\nExperience reviewing plans, specifications, and construction documentation.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and construction technology tools.\nValid driver’s license and the ability to travel across our footprint\nTechnical Knowledge\nUnderstanding of transmission line and/or substation construction practices.\nKnowledge of contractor management and contract compliance.\nFamiliarity with labor, equipment, and material management.\nAbility to interpret construction drawings and field documentation.\nUnderstanding of construction quality, safety, and environmental requirements.\nWhy ATC\nPurpose-Driven Work: Every project you support helps deliver safe, reliable electricity across the region and enables the energy future.\nA Safety-First Culture: Safety is our highest priority.
