In addition to supporting legacy systems, this position leads development activities, mentors junior engineers, participates in architectural design, and actively contributes to innovation and new product initiatives.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain robust software applications using C/C++, Python, LabVIEW, familiar with Microsoft Studio and other appropriate technologies.\nLead software projects or modules, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.\nOrganize, maintain, and review codebases using SVN and/or other version control systems.\nArchitect and implement new software features based on evolving customer and system requirements.\nIdentify, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software defects and performance bottlenecks.\nPrepare and update technical documents, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.\nCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, QA, and project management.\nResearch and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to improve software development efficiency.\nSupport deployment, integration, and validation activities at customer or field sites as required.\nMaintain detailed records of design changes, versioning, and issue tracking.\nPerform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.\nEnsure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nMentor and support Software Engineer I team members as assigned.\nMay oversee interns or co-op students on projects or tasks.\nAS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES\nBe familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.\nUnderstand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.\nComplete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.\nParticipate in Atec Continuous Improvement activities as appropriate.\nParticipate in AS9100/ISO training as required.\nCooperate with Auditors.\nReport any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.\nEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE\nBachelors Degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.\nMinimum five (5) years of related experience in software development, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nDemonstrated experience leading software tasks or projects.\nREQUIRED SKILLS\nProficiency in C/C++, Python, and LabVIEW; familiarity with additional languages a plus (e.g., Java, C#).\nStrong understanding of software architecture and design principles.\nExperience with embedded systems, real-time applications, or device integration preferred.\nStrong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work both independently and collaboratively.\nCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS\nNone required.
