Tasks involved ideation of design concepts, modeling and creating engineer drawings utilizing 3D CAD software, and final inspection of custom devices. Other responsibilities include interfacing with ATEC machine shop, surgeons and Sales teams for design requirements, managing and tracking status of multiple requests, and creating work orders for manufacturing.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nDesign and develop Customized Instruments using SolidWorks\nIntake, tracking and completing requests in ServiceNOW software platform\nGenerates design documentation for the project - Customized Design History File (cDHF)\nWorks with machine shop on design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA) \nInterfaces with Surgeons, Marketing, and Sales as to requirements of designs\nCreates and processes Work Orders for manufacturing\nCollaborates on the development of inspection methods\nAttend grand rounds, labs, or surgeries to gain clinical experience\nOther duties as assigned\nRequirements\nExperience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks\nStrong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior management\nHigh mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand the operation, interaction, and functionality of mechanical systems and devices, preferred.\nKnowledge in the use and interpretation of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, preferred\nPrior experience in a manufacturing environment, including knowledge of manufacturing methods, predominantly with metals and plastics, preferred.\nEducation and/or Experience:\nUndergraduate degree in mechanical or biomedical engineering with an emphasis on mechanical design\n1-4 years of product development experience, preferably in spine or implantable orthopedic medical devices.
