In this collaborative program management role, you have a direct impact on the profits and losses and will drive excellence, integration, and improvement of project management and execution methods in the organization.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nOversee program contract, scopes, budgets, reporting and assigned project managers and project coordinators to ensure project goals, timeframe, quality, and budgets are achieved.\n\nMonitor individual project progress, identify potential issues and coordinate necessary adjustments across projects within the program.\n\nDrive consistency in project execution using Project Management Excellence tools.\n\nLead and manage project managers and project coordinators to ensure implementation of PME best practices and scheduling standards across all projects within a program.\n\nTake the initiative in identifying and implementing process improvements in project management best practices.\n\nOrganize and develop project managers within the program to ensure customer needs and organizational requirements are met.\n\nDetermine skills needs. Manage and assign resources as needed to support programs ranging from $3M to over $30M.\n\nManage and maintain a productive and collaborative working relationship with customers.\n\nCommunicate with customers as needed and step in when conflict resolution with customers or contract issues needs to be escalated to the next level of management.\n\nOversee change management to ensure scope changes are accurately captured and implemented to ensure compensation and compliance within the contract.\n\nTake an active role in identifying risks and issues at both the program and project level to reduce schedule slips and/or cost overruns.\n\nEncourage collaboration across the organization to facilitate successful project execution, transparency, and problem solving.\n\nActively support and promote values of the organization.\n\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Includes training, coaching, appraising performance, mentoring, and developing assigned employees.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, science, business or other related technical discipline.\n\nMinimum 8 years of experience in project management, program management or combination of both. 2+ years of project management responsibility in custom fabrication or equipment building environment. This experience should include the ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings and diagrams.\n\nMust have proven success managing complex projects/programs with budgets greater than US $10 million.\n\nPrefer experience with Government programs/projects and/or experience with nuclear or NQA-1 related programs/projects.\n\nSKILLS and ABILITIES:\nStrong organizational skills and time-management with the ability to handle multiple assignments\n\nStrong negotiation skills and the ability to effectively present project information including options, alternatives and recommendations to the customer\n\nAbility to manage teams through influence rather than absolute authority\n\nAbility to work with individuals and set KPIs as well as professional goals\n\nWillingness to provide resources for professional development and actively participate\n\nAttention to detail with the ability to define problems and collects data to overcome challenges\n\nAction oriented, independent leader with the ability to drive solutions and improve project performance with minimal supervision but knows when to escalate issues\n\nStrong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all organization levels both internally and externally\n\nEffective communication skills and the ability to communicate complex issues across the organization and to senior management\n\nChange Management experience with the capacity to quickly adapt to new situations, changes in direction and altering priorities\n\nAbility to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and bills of materials\n\nAbility to read and interpret a variety of technical specifications, government regulations, quality requirements\n\nExperience working in a custom equipment fabrication or project-based business with percent complete and earned value accounting preferred\n\nExperience with government contracts preferred. Experience with CAS Compliance, FAR, DFAR and GSA preferred\n\nProficient in Microsoft Office tools especially Excel\n\nFamiliarity working within PrimaVera P6 is preferred\n\nFamiliarity working within an ERP or MRP system is preferred\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
