Following completion of training, the position will transition to a hybrid work arrangement, offering flexibility to work remotely while maintaining regular onsite collaboration with internal teams and customers as business needs require.\nSUMMARY:\nManages all aspects of small and medium sized complex technical projects comprised of design/build and build to print projects for a range of clients (e.g. DOE, DOD, NNSA, National Laboratory, Pharmaceutical companies, etc.) per the contracted scope of work consisting of codes, specifications, and drawings. Develops, plans, directs, and coordinates project activities to ensure that goals and objectives of the projects are accomplished, delivering them on time, to the required quality standards and at or below budget.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nEstablishes detailed project plans for each phase of the project and identifies key resources required to support and execute the project\n\nReports on key metrics to include budget, schedule and quality and utilizes project control tools to evaluate project performance against these key metrics at various phases of the project (i.e. during design, manufacturing, close-out, etc.)\n\nCommunicates project plans to customers, project team members and department leads to ensure clear understanding of project scope and project metrics\n\nWorks with department leads to develop project staffing plans and ensure key personnel and resources are identified early in the project planning process and are available for project execution\n\nPerforms risk analysis and develops risk mitigation plans for complex projects including developing contingency plans and providing transparency for the project\n\nManages customer expectations and effectively communicates project status, dependencies, issues and risks to customers\n\nBegins to develop strong, long-term customer and industry relationships\n\nActively drives and manages projects and project teams to ensure we are delivering expected outcomes and meeting or exceeding key project metrics\n\nAbility to lead and direct cross-functional teams to include engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and outside contractors\n\nNO SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities; however, direction may be provided to project coordinators, QA and engineering personnel, and to shop personnel. Direction is provided in the spirit of organizing and prioritizing the tasks required to complete projects on time and within budget.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:\nBachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related discipline with at least five (5) years of experience leading projects or programs.\n\nMust have experience managing complex projects with budgets greater than US $5M.\n\nPrefer experience with Government programs/projects and/or experience with nuclear or NQA-1 related programs/projects.\n\nSKILLS and ABILITIES:\nStrong organizational skills and time-management with the ability to handle multiple projects and assignments\n\nAbility to manage teams through influence rather than absolute authority\n\nAbility to define problems and collects data to overcome challenges\n\nStrong attention to detail\n\nAction oriented, independent worker with the ability to drive solutions and improve project performance with minimal supervision\n\nStrong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all organization levels both internally and externally (customer)\n\nAbility to effectively present project information including options, alternatives and recommendations to the customer and senior management\n\nAbility to handle multiple projects and assignments\n\nCapacity to embrace change and quickly adapt to new situations, changes in direction and altering priorities\n\nAbility to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and bills of materials\n\nAbility to read and interpret a variety of technical specifications, government regulations, quality requirements\n\nExperience working in a custom equipment fabrication or project-based business with percent complete and earned value accounting preferred\n\nExperience with government contracts preferred. Experience with CAS Compliance, FAR, DFAR and GSA preferred\n\nProficient in Microsoft Office tools especially MS Project and Excel\n\nFamiliarity working within an ERP or MRP system is preferred\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
