They will be familiar with and proficient at welding in accordance with AWS, ASME and Customer specifications on carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy materials using internal shop drawings and/or customer prints.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nAble to read and understand basic blueprints for layout, fit up and weld.\n\nComplete understanding in the use of ATG’s work order/traveler documentation, material heat number tracing, weld maps, and Quality Management System\n\nMust be able to certify to ASME Sect. IX and AWS qualifications\n\nAble to perform x-ray quality welds on products fabricated from stainless steel, carbon steel and specialty alloys using certified processes, i.e. GTAW, FCAW, LBW etc.\n\nMust be able to occasionally work in confined spaces with limited access and heights.\n\nNO SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities however, direction may be provided to project coordinators, QA and engineering personnel, and to shop personnel. Direction is provided in the spirit of organizing and prioritizing the tasks required to complete projects on time and within budget.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:\nHS Diploma, GED or equivalent.\n\nMinimum 5 years of related experience or technical training or equivalent\n\nSKILLS and ABILITIES:\nCapable of reading advanced blueprints and weld symbols\n\nUnderstanding of GD&T\n\nAbility to produce and use fixturing necessary to complete weldments/assemblies.\n\nCapable of completing weldments with consideration of tolerances, shrinkage and warpage.\n\nOperate shop machinery (band saw, brake press, shear, drill press, plasma cutter, etc.)\n\nAdvanced understanding of polishing and ability to meet desired surface finish requirements.\n\nAdvanced ability to layout hole patterns, penetrations, brake lines etc.\n\nAbility to safely operate forklifts and cranes.\n\nAbility to operate and/or willingness to learn operation of capacitive discharge weld stud machines.\n\nAbility to perform various assembly tasks.\n\nThe employee must Occasionally lift, carry, and/or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
