Come deliver this transformation.\nAbout the Role\nWe’re looking for a Engineering Manager to lead the Frontend Platform team powering our Ambient AI products. This team builds and owns the core frontend foundations used across clinician-facing experiences: ambient capture, real-time note generation, review & edit flows, copilot-style assistance, admin tooling, and integrations embedded into clinical workflows. Ambient is a high-throughput, low-latency, high-reliability product used by clinicians during live patient encounters. The frontend platform is critical: it must be fast, resilient, accessible, and intuitive under real-world clinical conditions.\nYour team’s work directly impacts provider trust, documentation quality, and time saved per visit. This role is ideal for a leader who has scaled frontend platforms for complex, data-heavy, real-time products and who is excited about owning the foundations that enable multiple Ambient product teams to move fast without sacrificing quality or safety.\nIdeally seeking someone who can join us in the office 1-3 days a week.\nWhat You’ll Do\nPeople Leadership & Delivery\nLead and grow a senior team of frontend platform engineers supporting Ambient AI\n\nSet clear technical and execution standards in a high-bar, healthcare-grade environment\n\nCoach engineers on scope ownership, technical decision-making, and cross-team influence\n\nHire and develop engineers who can operate across platform, product, and design boundaries\n\nOwn planning, execution, and delivery for platform initiatives with clear product impact\n\nAmbient Frontend Platform Ownership\nOwn the frontend platform used across Ambient experiences (web, mobile, embedded surfaces)\n\nLead architecture for real-time and async workflows (audio capture, streaming updates, AI state transitions)\n\nBuild and scale shared UI primitives, component libraries, and design systems used across Ambient\n\nImprove frontend performance, latency, reliability, and offline/poor-network behavior\n\nEstablish patterns for error handling, loading states, partial data, and confidence signaling in AI workflows\n\nDeveloper Experience & Scale\nCreate strong frontend abstractions that reduce duplication across Ambient product teams\n\nImprove local dev, testing, CI/CD, and release workflows for frontend engineers\n\nDefine standards for frontend observability, performance metrics, and user-impact monitoring\n\nPartner with backend and ML teams to define clean contracts between AI systems and UI layers\n\nCross-Functional Leadership\nPartner deeply with Product to translate clinical workflows into scalable UI platforms\n\nWork closely with Design to evolve clinician-grade design systems and accessibility standards\n\nCollaborate with Compliance and Security to ensure frontend patterns meet healthcare requirements\n\nInfluence frontend technical direction across the broader engineering organization\n\nTechnical Leadership\nDrive architectural reviews and RFCs for major Ambient frontend initiatives\n\nHelp teams navigate tradeoffs between speed, quality, and safety in AI-driven UX\n\nStay close enough to the code and architecture to unblock complex problems when needed\n\nEnsure platform decisions anticipate future scale (new care settings, modalities, and products)\n\nWhat You Have\nEngineering experience, including managing frontend or platform teams\n\nExperience leading frontend platforms, shared UI infrastructure, or design systems\n\nStrong expertise with modern frontend stacks (e.g. React, TypeScript, modern build tooling)\n\nExperience supporting real-time, data-intensive, or mission-critical user workflows\n\nProven ability to deliver platform capabilities used by multiple product teams\n\nStrong communication skills and comfort influencing product and technical direction\n\nNice to Have\nExperience building clinician-facing, enterprise, or regulated products\n\nFamiliarity with AI-driven or ML-powered user experiences\n\nExperience with mobile + web shared platforms or cross-surface design systems\n\nBackground in healthcare, fintech, or other high-reliability domains\n\nWhat Success Looks Like\nAmbient product teams ship faster with fewer regressions and less UI fragmentation\n\nFrontend latency and reliability meet the needs of live clinical encounters\n\nA trusted design system and component platform adopted across Ambient surfaces\n\nClear, consistent patterns for AI-driven workflows (loading, confidence, errors, edits)\n\nA high-performing frontend platform team that attracts senior talent\n\nPlease be aware that all official communication from us will come exclusively from email addresses ending in @ getathelas.com, @ commure.com or @ augmedix.com.
