Qualified candidates must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for Fall term 2027.\nAs a Public Relations intern at Athene, you will gain hands-on experience in corporate communications and stakeholder engagement, working on projects that help drive broader awareness of Athene’s business and reputation. You will support initiatives across media relations, corporate marketing, corporate responsibility, and government relations, building both professional and personal skills necessary to thrive in a corporate environment.\nThis internship provides a unique opportunity to contribute to real-world projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and present strategic recommendations directly to leadership.\nWhat You’ll Gain\nExposure to the full spectrum of corporate communications.\nOpportunities to develop professional networks with leaders and mentors.\nPractical experience applying communication strategies to real-world scenarios.\n• A final project that demonstrates your ability to analyze, strategize, and communicate effectively in a corporate setting.\nAccountabilities:\nAssist in identifying earned media opportunities (proactive and reactive) and learn best practices for engaging with media outlets.\nResearch and identify newsworthy content for distribution to internal and external stakeholders.\nCollaborate on strategies and tactics to amplify Athene’s corporate voice across communication channels.\nPartner with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Internal Communications, Government Relations, etc.) to deliver consistent messaging to target audiences.\nConduct media monitoring and analytics, providing insights and reporting on coverage and trends.\nSupport the alignment of Athene’s engagement calendar with key external organizations and industry events.\nContribute to strategic audits of communications practices and recommend improvements.\nDeliver a 10-week strategic project, culminating in a presentation to management on an assigned external relations topic.\nQualifications and Experience:\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail and clarity.\nFamiliarity with AP Style and demonstrated ability to adapt tone for different audiences.\nEffective time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.\nCollaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills, able to work effectively on a team and independently.\nProficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite; experience with analytics tools or media monitoring platforms is a plus.\nCreative thinker and problem-solver with an eagerness to learn and take initiative.\nDrive.
