You will work with Project Managers, architects, engineers, specialist consultants, clients and contractors to keep projects coordinated, controlled and focused on successful delivery.\nThe position would suit someone from an architectural, engineering, construction or project management background who is ready to broaden their delivery and commercial experience.\nYour role\nAs Assistant Project Manager, you will support the effective management of project scope, programme, cost, quality, risk and stakeholder communications. You will help coordinate the activities of architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, fire, sustainability and specialist design teams. You may also manage defined work packages or smaller projects under the supervision of a senior Project Manager.\nKey responsibilities\nSupport Project Managers in the delivery of multidisciplinary building projects.\nAssist with project start-up, governance, execution planning and team mobilisation.\nMaintain project programmes, design schedules, deliverable trackers and decision logs.\nCoordinate inputs and interfaces across architectural and engineering disciplines.\nMonitor actions, approvals, information requirements and key project milestones.\nOrganise project, design-team and client meetings, including agendas and minutes.\nPrepare progress reports, dashboards, presentations and other project communications.\nSupport the management of project scope and clearly record changes or additional client requirements.\nAssist with project risk, opportunity, issue and change registers.\nMonitor design-team resources, expenditure and progress against the agreed fee.\nSupport invoice preparation, forecasting and financial reporting.\nCoordinate subconsultant appointments, deliverables and administrative requirements.\nSupport the management of statutory approvals, stakeholder interfaces and client review processes.\nHelp ensure that deliverables are coordinated, reviewed and issued through the agreed quality process.\nMaintain effective document control and project records.\nSupport construction-stage activities, including reporting, meetings, RFIs, design changes, inspections and handover.\nPromote collaboration, clear communication and accountability throughout the project team.\nAbout you\nA degree or equivalent qualification in architecture, engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, project management or a related built-environment discipline.\nRelevant experience within a design consultancy, construction organisation, client body or project management environment.\nGood knowledge of the design and construction process.\nAn interest in developing a career in project and design management.\nStrong organisational, communication and coordination skills.\nAbility to manage multiple actions and deadlines in a structured manner.\nCommercial awareness and an understanding of programme, cost, scope and risk.\nCompetence in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and project scheduling tools.\nAbility to develop positive working relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.\nCommitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.\nExperience of BIM-enabled project delivery, building regulations, statutory approvals, design management or contract administration would be advantageous but is not essential.\nRewards & benefits\nExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive - at every stage of your life and your career.
