Depending on your experience, you may also take responsibility for managing smaller or lower-risk projects under appropriate guidance.\nYour purpose\nYou will help the Project Manager maintain control of project scope, programme, cost, risk, quality and communications. You will coordinate inputs from civil, structural, environmental, geotechnical and other technical disciplines, helping the team deliver clear, coordinated, and high-quality project outcomes.\nKey responsibilities\nSupport the planning, coordination and delivery of civil infrastructure projects.\nAssist with project mobilisation, kick-off meetings and preparation of project execution documents.\nMaintain project programmes, deliverable schedules, action trackers and reporting calendars.\nMonitor progress against agreed milestones and highlight emerging delays or constraints.\nCoordinate information and actions across multidisciplinary design teams.\nPrepare meeting agendas, minutes, progress reports and client presentations.\nSupport the management of project scope, assumptions, interfaces and deliverables.\nAssist with risk identification, maintenance of risk registers and implementation of mitigation actions.\nSupport change control, including the identification and recording of scope changes.\nAssist with monitoring project budgets, resources, expenditure and fee performance.\nSupport invoice preparation and maintenance of financial and change registers.\nCoordinate with subconsultants, contractors, statutory bodies and project stakeholders.\nHelp ensure that project documentation is complete, current and appropriately controlled.\nSupport compliance with health and safety, quality and project management procedures.\nAssist the Project Manager with client meetings, stakeholder engagement and project close-out.\nWhat we are looking for\nA degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, construction management, project management or a related discipline.\nRelevant experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, transportation, water or the wider construction sector.\nAn interest in developing a career in project and programme management.\nGood organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.\nClear written and verbal communication skills.\nA structured and proactive approach to problem-solving.\nAn understanding of project programmes, budgets, risk and change management.\nCompetence in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and project scheduling tools.\nAbility to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.\nAwareness of construction health and safety and quality management requirements.\nFull clean driving licence and willingness to undertake site visits across Ireland\nStrong communication and client-facing skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.\nExperience reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and contractor submissions, with the ability to identify key coordination, programme and constructability issues (full technical design review experience is not required).\nCommercial awareness, including programme, scope and change management.\nExperience of NEC contracts, infrastructure design delivery, public-sector projects or construction-stage coordination would be advantageous but is not essential.\nWhat we offer\nYou will receive structured support from experienced Project Managers while gaining practical exposure to project delivery, commercial management, programme controls, risk, client engagement and multidisciplinary coordination.\nThe role provides a clear development pathway toward becoming a Project Manager, supported by mentoring, training and access to AtkinsRéalis project management resources and professional development programmes.\nWorker Type\nEmployeeJob Type\nContractual (Fixed Term)At AtkinsRéalis, we seek to hire individuals with diverse characteristics, backgrounds and perspectives.
