The work is diverse and includes, but is not limited to, the construction of new substations; work in existing substations, early site investigations and work on the transmission system up to and including 500kV. The role is mobile and will involve travel to potentially remote areas of British Columbia as needed by the project. If successful, you will report to the Director of Project Delivery.\nYour role\nSupport the Construction Manager with project planning deliverables such as Outage Staging, Construction Management, Constructability Reviews, etc.\nReview preliminary design drawings for constructability purposes to support Engineering.\nIdentification and mitigation of construction risks.\nMonitoring and tracking of construction progress. Prepare progress reports.\nIdentifying and alerting the Construction Manager of any delays as needed.\nTracking and reviewing any contemplated changes during construction.\nWorking with the Construction Manager to evaluate, negotiate, quantify and approve claims.\nFacilitate construction management meetings between Contractors, the Owner, Engineering, and other key stakeholders.\nProvide the Construction Manager with information from these meetings to identify any construction risks and issues.\nWork with Engineering during construction to facilitate solutions to design issues and challenges.\nReview, negotiate and approve progress payments.\nCoordinate design and construction interfaces with other subcontractors.\nCoordinate completion and handover process, including inspections, deficiency lists, handover documentation.\nAct as Site Safety Coordinator as needed.\nIf acting as Prime Contractor, ensure all the requirements of Prime Contractor are in place for the Project.\nResponsible for construction coordination and staging between various Contractors during construction.\nDevelop a safe work culture at site. Be a safety ambassador and leader for all safety matters.\nReport any Safety or Environmental incidents in management systems; inform key stakeholders and work with the Owner and Contractor(s) on remediation plans.\nReview and advise on proposal and tender documents.
