This remote position is based out of our Oak Ridge, TN office.\nYour role\nFocused on being recognized as a premier nuclear solutions company in the United States, delivering engineering, operations, and project management services.\nServes both legacy and new build nuclear clients who are designing, building, upgrading, operating and maintaining nuclear power generation and fuel cycle assets.\nWe are a growing business, building on the foundation of our US government fuel cycle business, our international position as an Original Equipment Manufactor (OEM) and nuclear reactor technology provider, and our world-wide nuclear new build and legacy nuclear fleet maintenance experience.\nServes as a recognized expert on I&C and electrical engineering design and construction projects for nuclear facilities within AtkinsRéalis US Commercial Nuclear. \nTakes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions to solve unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business. \nWorks independently with guidance only in the most challenging situations.\nLeads functional teams (e.g., I&C and electrical engineering disciplines) for projects meeting milestones and objectives. \nRegarded as an expert in their discipline, with in-depth expertise in their discipline and broad knowledge of other disciplines within Nuclear facility design, construction, operations, and maintenance.\nWork involves directing research and solving unprecedented technical problems of considerable scope and complexity, the solution of which may have a far-reaching impact on extensive technical activities of the firm.\nReceives general administrative direction. \nExecutes independent decisions and resolves important questions concerning area of expertise, being recognized as a technical authority in his/her field of expertise, on a regional or national basis, both within and outside the company.\nProvides oversight and supervision of the technical work of senior professionals.\nInterfaces with senior technical managers and all levels of management throughout the firm.\nProvides technical direction throughout the company within field of expertise.\nEstablishes technical criteria on projects related to field of expertise and provides technical input/direction to project managers and team members.\nRepresents/defends company's technical work to client, regulatory agencies and others.\nParticipates in technical quality assurance reviews.\nAssists management in conducting project review audits involving specialty discipline. \nCoordinates with other managers to identify staffing needs, deficiencies and opportunities for recruitment in technical specialty area. \nAssists in the identification, screening, recruitment and orientation of qualified candidates to fill key vacancies within specialty field.\nLeads initiatives with considerable risk and complexity; develops the related strategy for execution.\nSolves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop unprecedented solutions.\nImpacts the direction and resource allocation for initiatives, projects or services; works within general functional policies.\nCommunicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nAbout you\nRequires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.\nRequires 15 years of experience of direct nuclear design, engineering and construction experience from recent new nuclear plant designs and/or nuclear projects.\nStrong communication skills in a challenging, multi-tiered environment.\nStrong organizational skills.\nAbility to foster and achieve goal alignment among participants with differing interests.\nExpert knowledge of key design codes and standards for commercial nuclear facilities required. \nExpert knowledge in the use of I&C electrical design software codes.\nSenior design professional experience on Commercial and Department of Energy nuclear reactor projects preferred.\nSenior design professional experience on Commercial and Department of Energy nuclear fuel cycle facilities preferred.\nNuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience preferred.\nProfessional Engineering (PE) License, with ability to be licensed in multiple jurisdictions required.\nRewards & benefits\nAt AtkinsRéalis, our values-Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, Innovation, and Excellence-are more than just words.
