The scope of the project is large and diverse ranging from implementation of modern safety systems, DCC upgrades, improvement to trip coverage and the upgrade of the safety related EPS, along with several other miscellaneous design modifications. This role will also be responsible for providing oversight for the proper application of programmatic areas of Cybersecurity and Human Factors Engineering.\nYour role\nResponsible for developing and implementing approved Engineering Plans for the mandated scope of work.\nResponsible for compliance with the overall engineering process, ensuring the design is defined, controlled, verified, and that all design inputs and interfaces are complete, substantiated and verified and its configuration managed.\nResponsible for technical integration, deliverables budget, schedule, quality and interface control both within the projects across the various disciplines involved, and with the client.\nResponsible for the selection and review for suitability of application of design methods, materials, parts, equipment, and processes that are essential to the safety-related functions of structures, systems and components.\nResponsible for identifying and proposing improvements in the areas of project - both proactively and in response to customer requirements.\nEnsures that the final deliverables from their team meet customer requirements specified in the contract and overall alignment with nuclear codes and standards.\nEnsures qualified and appropriate staff are working on the project and are assigned work within their experience and skills.\nProvides guidance, technical insights, supervision and feedback to the Project Engineering Managers that are part of their team.\nReviews and approve key technical documentation for the project, or phase of the project.\nMonitors the technical quality of engineering deliverables for the project, or phase of the project.\nEnsures security access requirements including need to know are implemented on a project.\nInterfaces with the Procurement Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Construction Manager and Site Engineering Manager for all site engineering matters in project, or phase of the project, as applicable.\nLiaises with the Project Director and senior executives regarding the technical quality of subcontracted engineering services.\nManage a team of Project Engineering Managers across I&C, Electrical and Computer Engineering disciplines.\nAbout you\nUniversity degree in an applicable field of engineering or science.\nRegistered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, member in good standing would be asset.\nMinimum 15 years of relevant experience, including experience leading teams.\nMeaningful experience working at project site, including a nuclear facility.\nSound knowledge of multiple engineering fields and of nuclear technologies.\nDemonstrated skills in the management of several complex technical projects, leadership, and project management of a highly technical group.\nDemonstrated business acumen - the ability to think, plan and negotiate strategically with a strong commercial orientation and good understanding of financial measurements.\nStrong leadership and coaching skills in the development of team members and support staff.\nExcellent clients focus and conflict resolution skills.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nRewards & benefits\nExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive - at every stage of your life and your career at AtkinsRéalis in Canada.\nEnjoy competitive compensation, employee recognition, and a brilliant range of flexible benefits you can tailor to your health, wellbeing, financial and lifestyle needs.\nMake the most of diverse opportunities for training and professional development to grow your skills and expertise.\nAnd take advantage of our hybrid working culture and generous time-off policies to balance a fulfilling career with your personal life.\nBe rewarded.
