The Site Assessment & Remediation (SAR) team holds a unique position within AtkinsRéalis, supporting a wide range of sectors - including transportation, infrastructure, water, power, and renewables.\nAtkinsRéalis is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Toronto team or Ottawa team. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), hybrid position, requiring two days per week in the office.\nYour role\nSupport the planning, scoping, and design of environmental sampling and investigation programs, including the identification of environmental indicators, contaminants of concern, and potential sampling constraints.\nAssist in the development of sampling protocols, including the selection of sampling locations, sampling frequency and timing, data collection methodologies, and analytical parameters.\nEnsure site assessments are completed in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and industry best practices, and support the development and implementation of appropriate corrective or remedial action plans.\nPrepare high-quality technical reports that satisfy regulatory and client requirements, identify potential environmental risks, and provide recommendations for further investigation, monitoring, or remediation.\nInterpret environmental data and assessment findings to support informed decision-making and project objectives.\nCommunicate assessment results and recommendations to stakeholders, including property owners, responsible parties, regulatory agencies, clients, and members of the public, through effective consultation and engagement processes.\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver environmental services safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules and budgets.\nAbout you\nEligibility for licensing as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) in the province of Ontario is considered an asset.\nMinimum of 5 years of environmental consulting experience, including at least 2 years of progressive responsibility in project planning, coordination, and management, with a focus on contaminated site assessment and remediation.\nStrong knowledge of Ontario Regulation 153/04 (as amended) and Ontario Regulation 406/19, including their application to contaminated site assessment and management.\nKnowledge of PFAS impacted soil and groundwater is considered an asset.\nDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build collaborative relationships with team members, clients, regulators, and stakeholders across multiple geographic locations.\nStrong understanding of, and commitment to, health, safety, and technical protocols and procedures.\nHighly organized, self-motivated, and capable of successfully managing multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise, and technically sound documentation.\nRewards & benefits\nExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive - at every stage of your life and your career at AtkinsRéalis in Canada.\nEnjoy competitive compensation, employee recognition, and a brilliant range of flexible benefits you can tailor to your health, wellbeing, financial and lifestyle needs.\nMake the most of diverse opportunities for training and professional development to grow your skills and expertise.\nAnd take advantage of our hybrid working culture and generous time-off policies to balance a fulfilling career with your personal life.\nBe rewarded.
