We are proud to be the steward of Canadian CANDU nuclear technology.\nYour role\nPerform engineering work following AtkinsRéalis/Candu Energy procedures and QA programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.\nPerform conceptual and/or detailed design of Candu instrumentation and control systems and modifications thereof, including definition of system functional and performance requirements and control algorithms, definition of control logic and wiring arrangements, control parameters, setpoints, instrument ranges and environmental qualification and seismic qualification.\nPerform specification, sizing, and selection for various types of I&C components, and produce component related documentation including assessment documents, setpoint calculations, error analyses, technical specifications, etc.\nUpdate and/or prepare I&C engineering design documents including design requirements, design description, elementary diagrams, functional specifications, etc., together with the supporting analysis/assessment documents and other design basis documents.\nProvide input to the drawing office for the preparation of various I&C related engineering drawings such as general arrangement drawings, instrument loop diagrams, wiring and connection diagrams, bills of materials, etc.\nProvide or update wiring and technical design input to computerized wiring programs.\nPrepare requisitions or Engineering Quotation Requests (EQR) for equipment and materials to support procurement.\nCoordinate and interface with client(s), suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines to execute assigned engineering work.\nDeliver technical presentations accurately and effectively.\nInterface and provide technical guidance and instruction to Designers/Drafters.\nPrepare scope of work and input to bid proposals.\nPerform field walk-downs during different design phases and prepare Walkdown reports as required.\nAssist field construction and execution activities, such as: field changes, design revisions, commissioning, AFS, closeout, etc.\nAssist in providing responses to technical enquiries from design review teams and regulatory agencies.\nComplete the assigned scopes or tasks within given budget and schedule, and in good quality.\nProvide prompt response and engineering resolutions on any critical engineering related matters.\nAbout you\nEngineering Degree in a relevant field of engineering from an accredited university or equivalent degree as recognized by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).\nRegistered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.\nExperience commensurate with the grade level, with a minimum of 7 to 12 years of pertinent engineering experience.\nPrevious experience at an operating nuclear power station or a similar installation not required, but would be an asset.\nSite experience in construction, or commissioning of electrical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries would be an asset.\nFamiliarity with instrumentation and control system functions, configurations and equipment as used for CANDU plant process systems, safety systems, or safety-related systems, or for similar systems in other industries would be an asset.\nFamiliarity with industrial/nuclear QA programs and procedures along with pertinent CSA, IEEE, or related I&C engineering codes and standards would be an asset.\nKnowledge of OPG and/or BP Engineering Change Control (ECC) process, standards and procedures is considered an asset.\nDemonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.\nDemonstrate good technical skills and problem-solving capabilities, and be able to seek practical solutions to engineering problems.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills.\nWillingness to become a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW).\nShall have fundamental technical knowledge to resolve engineering issues or technical problems.\nShall have excellent communication and technical writing skills and good ability to interact and communicate (both verbal and in writing) professionally with colleagues, clients and contractors.\nRewards & benefits\nExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive - at every stage of your life and your career at AtkinsRéalis in Canada.\nEnjoy competitive compensation, employee recognition, and a brilliant range of flexible benefits you can tailor to your health, wellbeing, financial and lifestyle needs.\nMake the most of diverse opportunities for training and professional development to grow your skills and expertise.\nAnd take advantage of our hybrid working culture and generous time-off policies to balance a fulfilling career with your personal life.\nBe rewarded.
