This position requires experienced individuals who are self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision. The individuals will work in a fast-paced team environment performing engineering services for Nuclear Power Plants within a matrix organization.\nJob Responsibilities:\nPerform conceptual and detail design engineering work on fuel handling mechanical equipment and systems, and/or process related design on D2O, oil hydraulic and pneumatic systems.\nCoordinating large scale projects of moderate technical and commercial complexity.\nPrepare design documentation such as design requirements, design descriptions, design specifications, technical specifications, component specifications, test procedures and plans, commissioning procedures, registration design submissions packages, flow sheets, detail drawings, general arrangements and equipment layouts.\nPerform component sizing, flow network analysis and stress analysis of mechanical systems.\nReview design reports, analysis reports, calculations, documents and drawings in support of design verification.\nPerform complex technical calculations relevant to design such as heat load analysis, fluid mechanics, and calculations related to component integrity.\nInterface with other engineers disciplines to obtain data and resolve issues relevant to design.\nConduct technical, conceptual and detailed design meetings in front of peers, clients and suppliers.\nPerform pre-order and post-order engineering support including review of client requirements, review of applicable documents and drawings, review of codes and standards, perform cost estimating, proposal preparation, preparing and review of engineering quotation requests, technical evaluations and resolving design deviations.\nProvide technical guidance to drafting staff as well as mentoring and oversight of junior engineers\nConduct site visits at various nuclear generating stations and suppliers.\nProvide engineering support to quality surveillance, manufacturing, assembly and testing with non-conformances.\nWork in accordance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, client and company procedures.\nProvide consultation and/or review and approval of engineering quotation request packages and purchase requisitions.\nAssist senior engineers and branch manager with daily engineering activities.\nWhy choose AtkinsRéalis as an employer?\nBecause we offer:\nThe opportunity to work on various major projects for internal and external clients.\nAn exciting environment where work-life balance is important.\nA wide array of learning and development opportunities.\nCompetitive pay, flexible benefits, an employee share plan, and a defined contribution pension plan.\nA work environment focused on health and safety.\nAbout You\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited University with a minimum 5 years of experience in machine, automation, equipment and/or tooling design, or 5 years of experience in the fluid power, oil hydraulic control and/or water process control industry.\nRegistered, or eligible to be registered, as Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.\nSolid understanding of mechanics of machine, mechanics of materials, material selection and fundamentals of machine component design.\nSolid understanding of fluid mechanics and process system control design including open and closed loop oil hydraulic circuit design.\n\nAdditional, preferred qualifications:\nKnowledge of pressure boundary work including pressure vessel design, analysis, code classification, code class boundary, non-destructive examination and design registration is an asset.\nKnowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section II, III, V, VIII and IX is an asset.\nKnowledge of general requirements for pressure-retaining systems and components in CANDU nuclear power plants CSA N285.0 code is an asset.\nKnowledge of boiler, pressure vessel, and pressure piping CSA B51 code is an asset.\nKnowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing ASME Y14.5 standard is an asset.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\nPresentation skills and public speaking abilities is an asset.\nCAD experience in Solid Edge or Solid Works is an asset.\nExperience working collaboratively in a dynamic team-oriented environment.\nMust be capable of working effectively in stressful environment and of maintaining a good working relationship with peers.\nMust be capable to work under tight deadlines, on emergency situations and flexibility to travel when needed.\n\nAre you up for this challenge?
