This position is suited to a self-motivated engineering professional who can work independently with appropriate guidance and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment. The successful candidate will provide engineering services for nuclear power plant projects within a matrix organization.\nYour role\nDevelop practical engineering solutions for modifications to nuclear and conventional systems, structures and components.\nPrepare and review engineering deliverables, including calculations, assessments, technical specifications, drawings, bills of material, test or commissioning procedures, equipment data sheets and design reports.\nPerform conceptual and detailed design activities, including equipment sizing and selection, system layout, design evaluation and resolution of technical issues.\nPrepare and review procurement-related documents, including engineering quotation requests, technical bid evaluations and vendor documentation.\nSupport engineering change control activities and prepare design change packages in accordance with applicable client processes and procedures.\nCoordinate defined work scopes of moderate technical and commercial complexity; monitor progress and communicate status, risks and issues to project and engineering management.\nSupport manufacturing, assembly, installation, testing and commissioning activities, and evaluate the completeness and status of delivered equipment.\nConduct technical meetings, site walkdowns and visits to client or supplier facilities, as required.\nInterface with clients, suppliers, drafting personnel and other engineering disciplines to obtain information, resolve issues and maintain design integration.\nEnsure work complies with applicable codes, standards, regulatory requirements, quality programs, project requirements and schedules.\nContribute to proposals, cost estimates and other project development activities.\nProvide technical guidance and support to junior team members, as appropriate.\nAbout you\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited university in mechanical, chemical, nuclear engineering or a related engineering discipline.\nRegistration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario, or eligibility to obtain registration, is preferred where required by the role.\nA minimum of four years of relevant experience in mechanical, process, equipment or systems design within an industrial environment; nuclear industry experience is preferred.\nExperience preparing and reviewing engineering deliverables such as calculations, assessments, specifications, drawings, bills of material, test procedures or design reports.\nExperience supporting procurement, vendor coordination, manufacturing, installation, testing or commissioning activities.\nUnderstanding of engineering fundamentals, including process systems, equipment design, materials selection, mechanics of materials and component sizing or selection.\nKnowledge of applicable engineering codes, standards, regulatory requirements and quality assurance practices.\nAbility to manage priorities, deliver results and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.\nWillingness to travel to and work at client, project or supplier sites, as required.\nStrong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.\nAdditional Preferred Qualifications:\nBruce Power Qualifications such: OE, ADE, IEE and Maximo are considered an asset.\nCompletion of key Nuclear Power School courses and exposure to system level Bruce Power training is considered an asset.\nExperience with pressure-boundary design, system code classification, licensing, design registration or interfaces with regulatory authorities.\nExperience with client engineering change control processes, procedures and related asset-management systems.\nExperience with analytical or engineering software tools.\nExperience working under nuclear power plant procedures, practices, security requirements or site qualifications.\nWorking knowledge of applicable nuclear and pressure-boundary codes and standards, such as CSA N285, CSA B51, ASME Section III, ASME Section VIII and ASME B31.1.\nKnowledge of CANDU nuclear power plant systems, equipment and components.\nAdaptability and effectiveness in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.\nStrong presentation, leadership and customer-focused communication skills.\nValid Bruce Power Security Clearance is an asset.\nRewards & benefits\nExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive - at every stage of your life and your career at AtkinsRéalis in Canada.\nEnjoy competitive compensation, employee recognition, and a brilliant range of flexible benefits you can tailor to your health, wellbeing, financial and lifestyle needs.\nMake the most of diverse opportunities for training and professional development to grow your skills and expertise.\nAnd take advantage of our hybrid working culture and generous time-off policies to balance a fulfilling career with your personal life.\nBe rewarded.
