This remote position is based out of our Oak Ridge, TN office.\nYour role\nAtkinsRéalis US Nuclear is the subsidiary of AtkinsRéalis focused on serving government and commercial clients within the Nuclear sector in the United States. \nWe are focused on being recognized as a premier nuclear solutions company in the United States, delivering engineering, operations, and project management services.\nServes both legacy and new build nuclear clients who are designing, building, upgrading, operating and maintaining nuclear power generation and fuel cycle assets. \nWe are a growing business, building on the foundation of our US government fuel cycle business, our international position as an Original Equipment Manufactor (OEM) and nuclear reactor technology provider, and our world-wide nuclear new build and legacy nuclear fleet maintenance experience.\nManages the design and development of mechanical systems for small modular reactor and nuclear fuel cycle facility projects.\nLeads and supervises a team of mechanical engineers designing systems, structures and components for major small modular reactor, fuel fabrication, and fuel recycling facilities.\nManages staff performance.\nReceives general administrative direction.\nExecutes independent decisions and resolves important questions concerning the design and development of the small modular reactor.\nInterfaces with senior technical managers, program managers, and all levels of management throughout the firm.\nIdentifies staffing needs, deficiencies and opportunities for recruitment of required staff. Identifies, screens, recruits and orients qualified candidates to fill key vacancies.\nCommunicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nAbout you\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering discipline.\nMinimum of fifteen years post-baccalaureate experience.\nMinimum of five years of experience managing individuals or teams.\nStrong communication skills in a challenging, multi-tiered environment.\nStrong organizational skills.\nAbility to foster and achieve goal alignment among participants with differing interests.\nKnowledge of key design standards and licensing requirements for commercial nuclear facilities required. \nProfessional Engineering (PE) License desired, with ability to be licensed in multiple jurisdictions.\nSenior design professional on Commercial nuclear reactor projects.\nNuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience.\nRewards & benefits\nAt AtkinsRéalis, our values-Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, Innovation, and Excellence-are more than just words.
