You will also contribute to design guidance, innovation and research projects that enhance our industry-leading reputation.\nWe are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Professional with significant experience in the active travel field. An eye for detail and confidence to challenge decisions and concepts in a constructive and collaborative way are key attributes for this role. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with clients and stakeholders at all levels across the UK and able to work collaboratively with an existing team of highly motivated active travel professionals.\nYour role\nDrive the technical delivery of active travel projects and programmes.\nAct as Technical Lead or Technical Reviewer on complex projects.\nProvide direction, mentoring and career development support to engineers and early-career professionals.\nBuild, maintain and develop strategic client relationships.\nLead and support the preparation of bids, tenders and framework opportunities.\nIdentify and respond to commercial risks and opportunities.\nDevelop project methodologies, fee proposals, resource plans and delivery strategies.\nPromote technical excellence, innovation and best practice across the business.\nSupport the development of design standards, guidance and research initiatives.\nLead stakeholder engagement and consultation activities where required.\nAbout you\nEssential criteria\nChartered Engineer, Chartered Transport Planning Professional or equivalent.\nSignificant experience in the planning, design and delivery of active travel infrastructure projects.\nDemonstrable experience integrating walking, cycling, public transport, green infrastructure and traffic management solutions into complex urban environments.\nExcellent understanding and application of relevant guidance and standards including Cycling by Design, Designing Streets, Inclusive Mobility and the National Roads Development Guide.\nExperience leading multidisciplinary design teams and coordinating technical inputs.\nExperience managing client relationships and supporting business development activities.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.\nDesirable criteria\nFull UK driving licence.\nExperience developing and mentoring technical teams.\nProject and programme management experience.\nExperience preparing contracts, specifications and procurement documentation.\nExperience undertaking public and stakeholder consultation.\nKnowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.\nCycling experience and understanding of user requirements.\nRewards & benefits\nExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive - at every stage of your life and your career.
