The Project Engineering Manager will play a lead role in the delivery of Engineering Services on large and complex projects (generally Class 3 & 4 projects) while also supporting the growth of the Engineering Management practice.\nReporting to the Director of Operations of the Engineering Management practice, the Project Engineering Manager will be assigned to a project. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional technical expertise, multi-disciplinary engineering experience, and a proven track record of managing engineering of large-scale projects.\nYour role\nEngineering Planning and Execution:\nCollaborate with Win Work and Market Lead to define proposal timelines, deliverables and efforts, ensuring alignment with client requirements and overall business objectives.\nCollaborate with Project Delivery team to define project goals, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client requirements and overall business objectives.\nOversee the engineering project lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and implementation, while managing resources effectively.\nOversee the Project Design Execution Plan.\nOversee the inter-disciplinary technical coordination.\nReview contract documents to ensure all deliverables and obligations associated with the scope of work are fully understood and identified.\nReview work hour estimate for the project and ensure budget and schedule are adhered to.\nMonitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and resolve any issues or bottlenecks that may impact project timelines or quality.\nPrepare and submit project monthly reporting to the Engineering Management Practice director.\nTechnical Expertise and Quality Assurance:\nProvide technical guidance and expertise to the engineering team, ensuring the use of industry best practices and standards.\nConduct regular reviews and quality assessments of engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with project requirements, specifications, and quality standards.\nPromotes a Value Engineering culture throughout the project life cycle.\nPromote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes, methodologies, and tools, driving efficiency and productivity.\nActively act in the role of Engineering Manager on a major project.\nStakeholder Collaboration:\nCollaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure project success.\nEngage in effective communication, providing regular engineering updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations to foster strong client relationships.\nActively participate in meetings, presentations, and technical discussions, representing the engineering team and providing expert insights and recommendations.\nAbout you\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related field with 20+ years of experience in a relevant field.Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering management, overseeing complex engineering projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.\nProven project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and deliver projects within budget and on schedule.\nFamiliarity with relevant engineering software, tools, and technologies.\nAbility to obtain relevant professional designation in multiple jurisdictions across Canada.\nStrong technical expertise in a relevant engineering discipline, with a deep understanding of engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.\nExcellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, unify and motivate team members to achieve project goals.\nExceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.\nEffective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences (both French and English are an asset).\nRewards & benefits\nExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive - at every stage of your life and your career at AtkinsRéalis in Canada.\nEnjoy competitive compensation, employee recognition, and a brilliant range of flexible benefits you can tailor to your health, wellbeing, financial and lifestyle needs.\nMake the most of diverse opportunities for training and professional development to grow your skills and expertise.\nAnd take advantage of our hybrid working culture and generous time-off policies to balance a fulfilling career with your personal life.\nBe rewarded.
