The successful candidate will be able to work with all levels of staff within the firm and will take initiative to develop research and design and implement projects from start to finish. The position also supports Business Development and presentation efforts in securing and advancing new projects.\nYour role\nAbility to provide superior architectural team leadership, interact with senior management and play a decisive role in project pursuits. \nAbility to make timely design and technical decisions in a collaborative manner while seeking advice of peers and supervisors.\nAbility to present oneself professionally to clients as well as maintain a ‘seller-doer’ approach. Ability to routinely interface with clients and keep client properly informed.\nAbility to perform programming, planning and other conceptual design activities.\nDevelop designs and sketches to be input into Revit-based construction documents as well as direct a project team to do the same.\nDemonstrated past ability to lead production of project documents through all stages of design and construction.\nAbility to mentor junior staff and lead a project team to produce a complete set of construction documents. Ability to perform QC review for design & red-line documents for production staff in BlueBeam or using another digital format.\nAbility to coordinate with sub-consultants and other disciplines and mentor junior staff to do the same.\nAbility to perform QC review and contribute needed information to a specification writer.\nAbility to create organized Exhibits in BlueBeam and PowerPoint for client and team review.\nAbility to direct & perform (if required) site observation and field work including site investigations, existing facility inventory and field measured documentation.\nProvide Project Managers with status reports of progress on architectural documents.\nAbility to complete assignments efficiently, accurately and in a timely manner. and self-perform quality control on work prior to publication.\nCommunicate regularly with the team and stay within the hours budgeted for tasks assigned.\nAbility to maintain and coordinate project BIM model and strong knowledge in construction document standards and conventions.\nAdvanced knowledge of building codes, ADAAG, FEDERAL and STATE compliance requirements and have experience with code reviews processes.\nAbility to interact with regulatory agencies and achieve a consensus.\nAbility to consults product manufacturers, to evaluate, and obtain accurate cost information and select materials, and inspect architectural features in the field.\nUnderstanding of building materials and construction methods.\nStrong time management and organizational skills.\nAbility to effectively work on several projects or issues simultaneously.\nInitiate tasks independently and follow through for delivery as needed.\nAbility to analyze information and propose effective solutions on own initiative.\nAbility to create basic and informative 3D models in BIM or another digital format.\nAbout you\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture required.\nMinimum 15-20 years of relevant work experience to include all phases of architectural drafting, detailing, and assisting with the coordination of consultants.\nThe position requires expertise in BIM/Revit and basic knowledge of AutoCAD.\nCandidate must hold an Architect license in at least 1 state.\nLEED AP or other sustainability certification or ability to obtain within first 6 months of hire.\nAdvanced knowledge of building systems and experience in implementation of various building systems and project types such as (aviation, rail, transit, commercial, education)\nExperience coordinating multi discipline work for complex architectural engineering projects.\nExperience directing work effort of junior staff to develop project documentation and manage project deliverables.\nAdvanced knowledge of building systems and experience in implementation of various building systems and project types such as (defense, federal, aviation, rail, transit, commercial, education) is a plus.\nPossess an Entrepreneurial spirit and a desire for career advancement.\nResume with a large variety of project types both in size and complexity a plus.\nPerforms such other duties as the Supervisor determine necessary to support the Architecture Practice.\nRewards & benefits\nAt AtkinsRéalis, our values-Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, Innovation, and Excellence-are more than just words.
