Job Description

Overview

Are you an innovative Senior Civil or Structural Engineer or Consultant who enjoys thinking creatively and approaching challenges with agility? Do you feel energised by applying your technical expertise while continuing to grow your leadership and engineering management capabilities?

If you’re motivated by taking ownership of structural design and assessment, working with advanced analytical approaches such as finite element analysis, and building meaningful client relationships, this could be the role for you.

Whether you are already chartered (IStructE, ICE, or equivalent), or bring equivalent capability, this is an opportunity to strengthen your expertise and expand your experience within a dynamic and forward-looking industry.

We are growing our team in Epsom and are looking for Senior Civil and Structural Engineers to support major new nuclear build programmes, including Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C, Small Modular Reactor (SMR) initiatives, and future fusion technologies. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality outcomes while developing your technical and leadership capabilities in a supportive environment.

Your role

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Apply your experience across civil and structural design and analysis, including steelwork and reinforced concrete structures.
  • Bring your background from design consultancy, project engineering, or research and development into a variety of complex project environments.
  • Lead, undertake, and review the design of new structures, taking ownership and accountability for delivery.
  • Coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Apply your experience within regulated environments (such as nuclear, power, or rail) to ensure safe and compliant outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering solutions aligned to time, cost, and quality expectations.
  • Contribute to business growth by supporting bid and tender development.
  • Support and mentor team members, contributing to a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
  • Work flexibly across office and client environments (minimum 3 days per week), gaining exposure to diverse and impactful programmes.

About you

We take a strengths-based approach, focusing on what you naturally do well and how you can continue to grow and thrive with us. You may find that many of the following resonate with you:

  • You are a Chartered Engineer (IStructE, ICE, or equivalent), with a strong foundation in civil or structural engineering.
  • You enjoy applying your civil-structural expertise to complex engineering challenges and are motivated to deepen your specialism.
  • You bring a curious and analytical mindset, often exploring different perspectives to develop effective and innovative solutions.
  • You feel confident taking ownership of your work, including leading design activities and contributing to project delivery.
  • You value collaboration and enjoy working across multidisciplinary teams, building strong and trusted relationships.
  • You are comfortable working in structured and regulated environments, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail.
  • You communicate clearly and thoughtfully, whether through technical reporting, reviews, or stakeholder engagement.
  • You are motivated to contribute to business development, including supporting bids and identifying new opportunities.
  • You find fulfilment in mentoring and supporting others, helping to build capability within the team.
  • You enjoy balancing technical depth with broader project and client considerations, delivering practical and proportionate solutions.
  • You are inspired by the opportunity to contribute to major nuclear programmes and shape a more sustainable future.
