In this role, you will help deliver toll roadway and transportation technology projects from concept through final design and construction support.\nYour role\nYou will apply your ITS and traffic engineering experience in a client-facing environment, coordinating design activities, guiding technical decisions, and supporting projects through design and construction.\nDevelop and evaluate communications systems connecting field devices with traffic management centers, including Gigabit Ethernet, fiber optic, and related network technologies.\nCoordinate, manage, prepare, and review conceptual, preliminary, and final ITS design plans, specifications, technical criteria, concept reports, scopes, and inspection documentation.\nPrepare and review construction quantities, cost estimates, and staff-hour estimates for proposed ITS work.\nPerform field investigations and inspections to document and evaluate existing ITS facilities and site conditions.\nSupport construction-phase services, including shop drawing reviews, responses to requests for information, field coordination, and inspection report reviews.\nCoordinate schedules and technical work across project team members and other disciplines on multidiscipline projects; review work for quality and consistency.\nWork full time in the client’s office, collaborating closely with client staff, consultants, and project teams.\nRepresent the client in project meetings, communicate engineering direction, make recommendations on traffic and ITS design issues, and document and share meeting outcomes with appropriate staff.\nAbout you\nBachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering.\nAt least eight years of relevant experience, including a minimum of three years of FDOT ITS design experience.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license in Florida, or current registration in another state with the ability to obtain Florida registration within six months.\nWorking knowledge of the FDOT Design Manual, FDOT Design Standards, FDOT Traffic Engineering Manual, MUTCD, and other applicable design criteria and standards.\nExperience with toll facilities and express or managed lanes is preferred.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office, MicroStation, and AutoCAD.\nStrong technical writing, presentation, listening, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead meetings, explain technical concepts, build effective working relationships, and represent the client professionally.\nDemonstrated analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities and multiple concurrent projects.\nAbility to travel within Florida, including occasional overnight travel, as needed to support the client.\nRewards & benefits\nAt AtkinsRéalis, our values-Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, Innovation, and Excellence-are more than just words.
