We are proud to be the steward of Canadian CANDU nuclear technology.\nYour role\nPerform engineering work following AtkinsRéalis/Candu Energy QA programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulation requirements.\nCoordinate and interface with client, suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines or department to execute assigned engineering work.\nInvolve in conceptual, preliminary, and/or detailed design of CANDU or Nuclear process systems and modifications.\nPrepare detailed design of Piping supports, pipe sizing, and piping and equipment layout with review in (S3D, Smart Plant Review).\nPrepare Design Change Package (DCP) and Design Change Notice (DCN) packages following customer procedures.\nPrepare technical documents, such as: engineering drawings (including GA, ISO, pipe supports, flow diagrams), change paper markups, calculations, design/analysis reports, design requirements, design manuals, bill of materials, design specifications, technical specifications, data sheets, system classification lists, code classifications, commissioning specifications, etc.\nPrepare TSSA registration packages for pressure boundary modifications.\nPrepare requisitions or Engineering Quotation Requests (EQR) for equipment and materials to support procurement.\nReview supplier technical documents and perform technical bid analyses.\nProvide technical guidance and instruction to Designers/Drafters and more junior staff as required.\nMay be requested by Engineering Manager to lead technical packages with a small or large team of Designers and Stress Analysts.\nPerform site visits to client and supplier shops as required.\nPerform field walk-downs during different design phases as required.\nSupport field construction and execution activities, such as: field changes, design revisions, commissioning, AFS, closeout, etc.\nProvide prompt response and engineering resolutions on any critical engineering related matters.\nComplete the assigned scopes or tasks within given budget and schedule, and in good quality.\nAbout you\nEngineering Degree in Mechanical from an accredited university or equivalent degree as recognized by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).\nHaving a P.Eng license for this position is mandatory.\nMinimum 10 Years of related work experience in mechanical engineering within a heavy industrial environment such as: nuclear, mining, oil & gas, power, etc.\nSite experience in construction, or commissioning of plant mechanical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries would be an asset.\nWorking knowledge of CSA N285.0 and CSA B51, CSA N289 and ASME Section III and ANSI B31.1 codes and any other applicable standards or regulatory guides related to permanent plant components, pressure boundary equipment, and/or reactor systems is preferred.\nKnowledge of principles and considerations to layout piping systems from tubing up to large bore piping systems while taking into consideration piping stress analysis and supports.\nMust have knowledge of mechanical and piping systems or equipment (knowledge of CANDU nuclear systems would be an asset).\nMust be able to apply technical principles in a logical and practical manner to resolve engineering issues or technical problems.\nDemonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.\nMust be willing to become a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW), although this will not be a regular requirement as part of the job.\nShall have excellent communication and technical writing skills.\nRewards & benefits\nExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive - at every stage of your life and your career at AtkinsRéalis in Canada.\nEnjoy competitive compensation, employee recognition, and a brilliant range of flexible benefits you can tailor to your health, wellbeing, financial and lifestyle needs.\nMake the most of diverse opportunities for training and professional development to grow your skills and expertise.\nAnd take advantage of our hybrid working culture and generous time-off policies to balance a fulfilling career with your personal life.\nBe rewarded.
