That's why we offer flexible and hybrid working arrangements wherever possible, a strong commitment to wellbeing, and support for career returners looking to re-establish themselves in the profession.\nAs a Senior Systems Engineer within our Advanced Engineering Delivery & Consultancy (AEDC) Practice, you'll play a leading role in delivering solutions to some of the UK's most complex defence, nuclear and critical infrastructure challenges. You'll work directly with major clients, helping to define capability, influence key engineering decisions and solve highly complex technical problems.\nThis is a role for engineers who enjoy variety, responsibility and impact. You'll contribute across the full systems engineering lifecycle, from concept and requirements development through architecture, integration, verification and acceptance. You'll work on programmes spanning land, maritime, air, space, nuclear and Critical National Infrastructure domains, gaining exposure to some of the UK's most strategically important projects.\nYou'll be trusted to lead technical work packages, provide direction to multidisciplinary teams, mentor developing engineers and engage confidently with senior client stakeholders. Whether supporting capability development, system integration or complex engineering transformation programmes, your expertise will help shape solutions that deliver lasting value.\nProjects are delivered across a range of locations, including Aldermaston, Barrow-in-Furness, Faslane and Devonport, providing opportunities to work on nationally significant programmes that few organisations can offer.\nYour role\nAs a Senior Systems Engineer, you will:\nLead the application of systems engineering principles, processes and standards across the engineering lifecycle.\nDefine and manage requirements, ensuring traceability through design, integration, verification and validation.\nLead architecture development and solution design for complex systems and capabilities.\nProvide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams, work packages and engineering activities.\nApply systems, architecture and digital engineering techniques to support analysis, integration and decision-making.\nConduct technical assessments, trade studies and engineering analysis to inform programme decisions.\nSupport system integration, acceptance and transition to operational use.\nBuild strong stakeholder relationships, mentor engineers, contribute to business growth and apply MOD acquisition knowledge, including KiD.\nAbout you\nWe're looking for experienced Systems Engineers who are passionate about solving complex problems and delivering meaningful outcomes. If you don't meet every requirement but believe you can bring value to the role, we'd still love to hear from you.\nDegree-qualified in a relevant STEM discipline (or equivalent experience), with CEng, CSEP or progress towards professional registration.\nExperience delivering systems engineering within complex defence, aerospace, nuclear, energy, infrastructure or government programmes.\nStrong understanding of systems engineering principles, lifecycle management and standards (e.g. ISO 15288).\nExperience leading requirements engineering, architecture, integration, verification and validation activities.\nProven ability to lead technical teams, influence engineering decisions and deliver successful outcomes.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior technical and non-technical audiences.\nExperience using digital engineering, modelling and architecture tools and frameworks (e.g. DOORS, Cameo, SysML, UML, TOGAF or MODAF).\nKnowledge of MOD acquisition processes, KiD, programme delivery and commercial considerations, with experience supporting engineering transformation initiatives.\nRewards & benefits\nExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive - at every stage of your life and your career.
