We are proud to be the steward of Canadian CANDU nuclear technology.\nYour role\nThe qualified individual will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:\nLead technical activities, provide design solutions, resolve critical design challenges for new, updated and modified Candu Nuclear Steam Plant (NSP) process systems, structures and components.\nAct as authority for NSP systems.\nProvide technical supervision, guidance, mentorship, and leadership related to NSP system design and operation.\nPerform thermalhydraulic evaluations on complex systems.\nSupport Engineering Management with timely updates on engineering progress and project planning.\nInterface with internal and external stake holders.\nEnsure adherence to company quality program.\nPrepare and /or review design documents for Nuclear Power Plants; e.g., Design Calculation, Design Requirements, Assessments, Technical Specifications, Drawings, Bill of Materials, System Code Classification, Engineering Quotation Request and Tender Technical Evaluations.\nPerform walkdowns, attend site visits and meetings as required.\nEnsure applicable code, standards and regulatory requirements are met.\nAbout you\nRegistered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.\nEngineering degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or Engineering Science.\nA minimum of 20 years of experience and 10 years leading teams in CANDU nuclear process-system design/analysis, providing design solutions for CANDU nuclear power plants, particularly on the Heat Transport and Auxiliary systems.\nExperience performing work to nuclear power plants procedures and practices and qualifications for nuclear power plants engineering activities.\nMust have excellent technical/practical skills and solid understanding of CANDU design to resolve engineering issues or technical problems.\nExperience performing heat balance and thermalhydraulic evaluations.\nExperience in nuclear process system design and layout.\nKnowledge of analytical tools used for mechanical and process design; e.g., ANSYS, Mathcad, Flomaster, NUCIRC, CATHENA or similar.\nWorking knowledge of/experience using nuclear Codes and Standards, including CSA N285.0, ASME Section III, and REGDOC-2.5.2.\nWorking knowledge of/experience with the CSA B51 standard, ASME B31.1 codes and other nuclear-power-plant applicable standards or regulatory guides related to permanent plant components, pressure boundary equipment, and/or reactor systems.\nMust have excellent communication and technical writing skills.\nDemonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.\nSite experience in construction, or commissioning of plant mechanical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries is an asset.\nEligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).\nRewards & benefits\nExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive - at every stage of your life and your career at AtkinsRéalis in Canada.\nEnjoy competitive compensation, employee recognition, and a brilliant range of flexible benefits you can tailor to your health, wellbeing, financial and lifestyle needs.\nMake the most of diverse opportunities for training and professional development to grow your skills and expertise.\nAnd take advantage of our hybrid working culture and generous time-off policies to balance a fulfilling career with your personal life.\nBe rewarded.
