AtkinsRéalis is dedicated in engineering a better future for our planet and its people.\nAtkinsRéalis is offering an exceptional full-time opportunity for a Senior Transmission Line Engineer seeking to build a strong and sustainable career in the field of electric power transmission and distribution networks.\nThe successful candidate will be based at our Calgary office and will work within a dynamic, multidisciplinary, and stimulating consulting engineering environment, offering excellent opportunities for professional development and career advancement.\nThe role will focus primarily on electric power transmission line projects, encompassing both High-Voltage Alternating Current (HVAC) and High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) technologies. In this capacity, the candidate will contribute to large-scale, innovative, and strategic projects, playing an active role in supporting the energy transition and enhancing the reliability of electric power systems.\nYour role\nPrepare conceptual and detailed design for transmission lines projects.\nReview the design basis memorandum, Transmission lines Requirements, detailed engineering scope and guide the assigned discipline engineers to align the engineering deliverables according to client requirements and AtkinsRéalis’s Quality Management Systems.\nPreparation of Scope of Work (SOW) for survey, staking and construction, line route selection report, conductor selection report, preparation of specifications for material, equipment, construction and installation work.\nPerform Transmission Line Optimum spotting.\nCoordinate the work with internal engineering team and the client.\nSupervise the work of technicians and designers assigned to the projects.\nConstruction support including resolving site queries, attending site meetings and performing site inspections during the construction phase of projects.\nAbout you\nA degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.\nP.Eng. registration or Equivalent required.\nA minimum of 10 years of experience in Transmission and Distribution lines design.\nKnowledge of PLS CADD, PLS TOWER and PLS POLE software essential.\nExcellent communication skills in English (written and spoken), French as a second language will be an asset.\nRewards & benefits\nExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive - at every stage of your life and your career at AtkinsRéalis in Canada.\nEnjoy competitive compensation, employee recognition, and a brilliant range of flexible benefits you can tailor to your health, wellbeing, financial and lifestyle needs.\nMake the most of diverse opportunities for training and professional development to grow your skills and expertise.\nAnd take advantage of our hybrid working culture and generous time-off policies to balance a fulfilling career with your personal life.\nBe rewarded.
