This role supports client hosting environments in AWS, works the IT support and alert queues, and helps move our remaining console-managed infrastructure into Terraform. Technologies utilized are AWS, Terraform/OpenTofu, Linux, Microsoft Windows, Apache, NGINX, IIS, Load Balancing, CloudFront/CDN, WAF, Redis, MySQL, MSSQL, Varnish, and DNS.\nResponsibilities\nCommunicate effectively with clients and ABT team members to provide excellent support via phone, email, and tickets\nWork directly with ABT developers, QA, and project managers to unblock their work and explain infrastructure issues in plain language\nDesign, build and scale customer and application-specific hosting environments in AWS\nBuild and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform/OpenTofu, and import existing console-managed resources into code\nPerform network administration tasks, including VPC design, subnetting, routing, security groups, VPN, and DNS\nTroubleshoot web application performance and security problems\nTriage and respond to monitoring alerts (CloudWatch, NodePing) and lead incident response\nCoordinate and execute scheduled client deployments; diagnose CI/CD pipeline failures\nPerform supporting release tasks: database exports and snapshots, cache invalidations, certificate and secret updates, DNS cutovers\nPerform security scans, WAF policy tasks, and mitigate problems or vulnerabilities\nManage IAM, SSO, and credential rotation; provide least-privilege access paths\nInstall/configure/upgrade servers and perform server administrative tasks\nPerform migrations of legacy web applications and software\nScript complex tasks and deployments using Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Ansible\nMonitor and control cloud spend\nProvide after-hours support and respond to monitoring alerts on a rotating schedule\nWrite documentation for team processes, procedures, infrastructure, and deployments\nContribute to and ensure AtlanticBT IT policies, standards, and procedures are consistently being achieved\nRepresent AtlanticBT internally and externally as an expert IT resource\nProvide project architecture design input and project retro feedback\nRequirements\n3+ years of experience cloud hosting applications and related activitiesAmazon Web Services in Production Environments\nLinux\nMicrosoft Server\nMS SQL Server\nMySQL\n\nHands-on Terraform or OpenTofu experience: writing modules, managing state, and importing existing resources\nStrong networking knowledge: subnetting, routing, DNS, TLS, load balancing, firewall rules, and VPN\nComfortable operating legacy console-managed infrastructure while we transition to Terraform / OpenTofu\nDependable and professional\nPositive, self-motivated, quick learner\nExcellent communication skills (both verbal and written)\nAbility to work well with teammates: collaborative, patient, and comfortable being interrupted\nAbility to work independently and with a team of peers\nAbility to recognize tasks that need to be completed and willing to take responsibility for them\nExperience in any of the following is a plus:\nCI/CD automation, especially Bitbucket Pipelines\nAWS WAF rule authoring and bot management\nSSO and identity federation (JumpCloud, AWS IAM Identity Center)\nObservability tooling (Grafana, CloudWatch dashboards, synthetic monitoring)\nCompliance program support (SOC 2, Vanta)\nContainers and serverless (ECS, Fargate, Lambda)\nMicrosoft Azure or Google Cloud\nWeb application development knowledge and experience in one or more ofPHP\n.Net\nNode.js\nPython\n\nAtlantic BT is an equal employment opportunity employer and does not discriminate against any person because of race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law (referred to as \"protected status\").
