The role contributes to building a smart laboratory environment that improves testing efficiency, development productivity, and engineering capability.\nMain Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain the Smart Lab master plan and digitalization roadmap aligned with business, engineering, and laboratory objectives\nIdentify future laboratory technology trends and define strategic initiatives to enhance laboratory capability, efficiency, and digital maturity\nPlan, conduct, and analyze reliability testing activities to verify product performance and MTBF achievement.\nBuild, operate, and continuously improve laboratory test systems, fixtures, and testing methodologies to ensure accurate and repeatable results.\nDevelop and implement laboratory automation solutions, data acquisition systems, and Test digitalization to improve efficiency and productivity.\nCollect, analyze, and visualize test data through dashboards and digital tools to support engineering decisions and project execution.\nAssemble, disassemble, modify, and evaluate vacuum pumps and related systems in accordance with Edwards quality and engineering standards.\nCreate, maintain, and improve technical documentation including SOPs, test procedures, TDSs, and verification reports.\nPerform maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and performance verification of laboratory equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance.\nYour skills and experience\nEducation levelBachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering\n\nRelevant Previous experience (minimum years of experience to competently carry out the role, not total year of experience)Minimum 3 years of experience in laboratory engineering, test engineering, NPI, reliability, or related engineering environments.\nExperience in test setup, execution, troubleshooting, and reporting activities.\nExperence developing and implementing lab. Automation or digital enginnering solution.\nHands-on experience with mechanical assembly/disassembly, engineering tools, and laboratory equipment.\nExperience using electronic measurement equipment, pressure/vacuum instrumentation, sensors, and DAQ systems.\n\nKnowledge areas/Skills (minimum level of knowledge to fullfil the role’s responsibilities)\nKnowledge of vacuum technology, pump systems, and related engineering principles.\nUnderstanding of laboratory testing methodologies, test specifications, and engineering validation activities.\nExperience with special builds, prototype builds, and engineering investigation activities.\nBasic knowledge of laboratory automation, PLC, LabVIEW, Python, Power BI, Grafana, or similar engineering tools is preferred.\nUnderstanding of pressure, thermal, vibration, flow, and performance testing methods.\nKnowledge of data collection, dashboard development, and digital engineering tools is an advantage.\nKnowledge of Smart Factory, digital transformation concepts.\nUnderstanding of automation system integration, real-time monitoring, manufacturing data analytics, MES/SCADA systems, and smart manufacturing technologies.\n\nOther requirements (e.g. Language skills; competencies; expected travel requirements)Fluent English communication skills with the ability to effectively read, write, and communicate with global teams, suppliers, and senior management.\nStrong communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels, including shop floor personnel, laboratory users, engineering teams, and leadership.\nDemonstrated proficiency in leveraging AI tools and digital technologies to enhance engineering efficiency, automation, data analytics, and decision-making\n\nYour job location\nThis role requires you to work on-site at our office in PCCA, South Korea.
