At Atlas Labs, we are passionate about combining advanced technology with customer-focused solutions to improve industries and communities worldwide.\nYour Role\nDesign, develop, and deliver embedded systems for connected hardware and AI-enabled products from prototype through production.\nDefine and implement embedded system architectures, including processors, microcontrollers, sensors, communication interfaces, power systems, and peripheral devices.\nDesign electronic schematics and contribute to PCB design, layout, bring-up, validation, and hardware revisions.\nDevelop, maintain, and optimize embedded software and firmware for microcontroller, processor, Linux, and RTOS-based systems.\nIntegrate AI and machine-learning capabilities into embedded and edge devices, including supporting model deployment, inference, data capture, and communication with AI services.\nWork closely with AI and computer-vision teams to ensure hardware, firmware, cameras, sensors, and data pipelines reliably support model execution and intelligent product features.\nDevelop and optimize device-level interfaces between embedded hardware, backend services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and application platforms.\nIntegrate and troubleshoot connectivity technologies including Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, and other wired and wireless communication protocols.\nBuild functional prototypes and conduct system-level testing, validation, debugging, and performance evaluation across hardware and software.\nDrive hardware bring-up and production validation, ensuring manufactured devices meet engineering specifications, functional requirements, and quality standards.\nDevelop production testing, device provisioning, diagnostics, firmware deployment, and validation processes to support reliable manufacturing at scale.\nDiagnose and resolve complex hardware, firmware, connectivity, AI-integration, and field issues using systematic testing, logging, and debugging.\nDevelop engineering tools, scripts, and automation to improve testing, device configuration, monitoring, diagnostics, and development efficiency.\nEvaluate components, hardware revisions, and design changes to improve reliability, manufacturability, performance, scalability, and cost.\nCollaborate with software, AI, mechanical, product, manufacturing, suppliers, and external engineering partners throughout the product lifecycle.\nMaintain technical documentation covering system architecture, hardware designs, firmware, interfaces, test procedures, production processes, and engineering changes.\nContribute to technical planning, design reviews, engineering decisions, and continuous improvement of Atlas Labs’ embedded development and production processes.\nYour Profile\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.\n3+ years of experience developing embedded hardware and software solutions.\nExperience in schematic design and PCB development.\nProficiency in C and C++ programming for embedded systems, including ARM-based platforms and microcontrollers.\nUnderstanding of mixed-signal circuit design and system integration.\nFamiliarity with AI/ML technologies and embedded AI applications is a plus.\nGood understanding of software design patterns and version control using Git.\nExperience with KiCAD 6 or similar design tools is a plus.\nExperience designing, testing, and debugging PCBs using tools such as oscilloscopes and other electronic test equipment.\nGood understanding of wireless communication protocols, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and cellular technologies.\nExperience with RTOS environments is a plus.\nGood written and verbal communication skills in English.\nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.\nStrong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.\nAbility to manage priorities and meet project deadlines.\nBenefits\nIn addition to our great team, positive culture, and shared vision, Atlas Labs offers a range of benefits that make it a great place to work:\nThe opportunity to develop and implement high-value, innovative technology while contributing to the growth of a successful technology company.\nCompetitive remuneration with a Dollar peg.\nAccess to state-of-the-art hardware and modern software infrastructure.\nA modern office in the heart of Colombo.\nApply Today\nDon’t meet every single requirement?
