Join Atlas Technica now!\nPosition Overview\nWe are seeking a Data Quality Engineer to establish and strengthen quality assurance across Atlas Technica’s data and business intelligence solutions. As the first dedicated Data QA Engineer on the team, this individual will play an important role in developing testing standards, quality controls, and repeatable QA processes across ETL pipelines, Data Warehouse solutions, Power BI, and embedded reporting.\nThe Data Quality Engineer will validate data accuracy, completeness, consistency, security, and business logic across the full data lifecycle-from source systems and integration processes through semantic models and client-facing reporting. This role will work closely with Data Engineers, Power BI Developers, and business stakeholders to identify quality risks early and improve release readiness.\nThe successful candidate will combine strong SQL and data-testing expertise with analytical thinking, attention to detail, clear documentation, and the ability to establish quality practices within an evolving data environment.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nDefine and implement QA processes, testing standards, quality controls, and release gates for Data and Business Intelligence solutions\nDesign and execute test plans across ETL and ELT pipelines, Data Warehouse solutions, Power BI reports, and embedded reporting applications\nValidate data accuracy, completeness, consistency, transformation logic, and business rules across source systems, data pipelines, semantic models, and reporting layers\nPerform source-to-target validation, data reconciliation, integration testing, regression testing, and end-to-end testing\nTest Power BI reports, semantic models, DAX calculations, Power Query transformations, dashboards, and reporting functionality\nValidate complex KPIs, business metrics, calculations, aggregations, and reporting logic against defined business requirements and expected outcomes\nValidate Row-Level Security, customer data isolation, access controls, and other security-related functionality within embedded analytics solutions\nInvestigate data-quality issues, perform root cause analysis, document defects, and collaborate with technical teams through resolution and validation\nParticipate in requirements reviews, solution-design discussions, and data-model validation to identify quality risks early in the development lifecycle\nCreate and maintain test plans, test cases, defect reports, testing procedures, QA metrics, and supporting quality documentation\nPartner closely with Data Engineers, Power BI Developers, and business stakeholders to improve data quality and release readiness\nDrive continuous improvement of QA practices and promote a quality-first approach across data and analytics development\nRequirements:\n5+ years of overall quality assurance experience across Software QA, Automation QA, Data QA, or other quality-focused roles, including 3+ years of experience in Data QA, ETL testing, Data Warehouse testing, or BI testing\nDemonstrated experience establishing QA processes, test strategies, testing standards, or quality-control practices\nStrong SQL skills with the ability to develop complex queries for data validation, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and testing\nExperience testing ETL/ELT pipelines, data transformations, and integration processes\nStrong understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and dimensional modeling, including star and snowflake schemas\nExperience testing Power BI reports, semantic models, dashboards, DAX calculations, and related reporting functionality\nExperience testing Power BI Embedded or comparable customer-facing analytics solutions\nStrong understanding of data accuracy, completeness, consistency, business-rule validation, and source-to-target reconciliation\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail\nAbility to collaborate effectively with Data Engineers, BI Developers, technical stakeholders, and business partners\nEnglish proficiency at B2 level or higher\nDesirable Qualities:\nExperience validating historical data models and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD)\nExperience working with CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps\nFamiliarity with data monitoring, data freshness validation, and ongoing data-quality controls\nKnowledge of Power BI REST APIs, report lineage, metadata validation, or related Power BI administration capabilities\nExperience with performance, scalability, access-control, or security testing of analytics solutions\nExperience working within Agile development environments such as Scrum or Kanban\nMicrosoft Azure, Power BI, Data Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related technical certifications\nAtlas Technica is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
