It is not available for any work sponsorship.\nOur paid internship program runs for 12 weeks between May/June - August/September 2027.\nYour Future Team\nAs an intern in our world-class Data Engineering team, you'll influence product teams, inform Dat Science and Analytics Platform teams, and partner with data consumers and products to ensure qualify and usefulness of data assets. You will help strategize measurement, collecting data, and generating insights.\nThis work will help understand and improve product experience and engagement, improve efficiency and costs, and guide strategy. You'll report to a Data Engineering Manager, and learn from your team mentor who are some of the best Data Engineers in the business.\nResponsibilities\nData Engineering is a multi-faceted role, where you can have focused or broad set of responsibilities, including:\nDefine metrics\n\nInstrument logging\n\nAcquire/ingest data\n\nArchitect & modeling data\n\nTransform data\n\nEnsure data quality, governance, and enablement\n\nAlerting, visualization, and reporting\n\nDevelop at scale and improving efficiency\n\nQualifications\nExperience programming with Python, or other related object-oriented programming languages\n\nHave an interest in software engineering demonstrated by previous internships, work experience, projects, or publications\n\nKnowledge of data structures, in particular how they are implemented and how to apply them to meet data challenges\n\nHuge Plus: An understanding of the SaaS business model and data structures or experience in Enterprise Software product development\n\nProficiency in SQL and relational databases experience\n\nDemonstrated interest in the Data Engineering field through academic coursework, previous work or internship experience, or personal projects\n\nAble to commit to a 12 week full-time (40hrs/week) program during Summer 2027\n\nCurrently enrolled full-time in a 4-year bachelor's degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship, graduating by August 2028\n\nCompensation\nAt Atlassian, we strive to design equitable and explainable compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience.\nIn the United States, we have three geographic pay zones.
